We travelled to Kuranda on the Kuranda Scenic Railway and joined the train at Feshwater Station. The train arrived on time however it left nearly 20 minutes late due to late arrival of passengers. The impact reduced our time in Kuranda and we decided to change our transfer to a later time to compensate, we were much later home than... More

Ride the scenic railway up the handcut railway to Kuranda passing rainforest, am amazing bridge spanning Barron Gorge where you can see the front of the train from the back as it goes over the bridge. Spend the day at the historic Kuranda village and enjoy the markets and then come back to Cairns on the scenic skyrail. You'll get... More

Tropically hot, as expected, but you can get out and check the local wildlife or just relax in the railway coaches

My daughter and I took the sky rail up and the train from Kuranda back. The scenery is gorgeous, and the commentary told us about the history and highlights. Spend the extra money to go gold class. The seats are bigger and better, and you get free drinks (wine, beer, tea, coffee, and soft drinks) and some cheese and cracker... More

Railway is very scenic and well planned - several photo stops at interesting sites and good narration of the area and the history of the railway. The only challenge was how crowded the train was, and how hot.
