The trip up the scenic railway to Kuranda was an excellent introduction to the heavily vegetated areas near Cairns. The train trip was excellently organised with fixed seating giving very good viewing along the historic railway. A wander through Kuranda main street and markets was interesting, and then the return trip via the skyway was an excellent way to skim... More

This was a great way to get to Kuranda. We did the train up and the sky train down (great but beware if you suffer from vertigo!) We booked through Trek North so were picked up and dropped off from our hotel which was really convienent.

The scenic railway was fun, but avoid buying a milkshake at the freshwater station/cafe as it cost $7 and was only the size of a latte. The Kuranda markets were very junky. IF you are after a great train trip then go for the ride; the staff were awesome, just the other stuff let them down.

This is great. Very relaxing old world travel. Picturesque scenery and great photo opportunities! We took the sky rail back after visiting Kuranda, which again was a great way to get back down. Loved it!

A brilliant way to travel to (or grom) Kuranda! Spectacular railway, superb views of the Coral Sea and the various waterfalls. A must-do in Cairns!

This was a scenic but pricey way to get to Kuranda. Though Kuranda itself was so touristy I think the train up is at least half the interest. I wouldn't do this again.

The whole day was an experience and the SkyRail and Kuranda Railway very good. There are stops on the way for the SkyRail where you can see the Baron Falls and some very large trees in the rain forest. Travelling back on Gold Class was another lovely experience with an authentic old railway carriage along with comfy seats and pleasant... More

We rode the railway 25 years ago when we lived in Australia. We were back for a week in Queensland and decided to go again. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride up to Kuranda and a walk around the town. It is much more touristy now. We found a great pie shop at the end of the commercial strip that was... More

Great views, worth the trip as at the top is a beautiful town in the mountains with lots to do a butterfly farm, art galleries and the whole town is set up like a market. I liked the town I went back the next day by car.
