My daughter and I spent a lovely day on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, and had a number of photo ops, including mountain gorges, waterfalls, and vistas of the plains and sea, on our way up to the Kuranda Village. It was a relaxing ride, but I would say it is a bit pricey in my opinion. We took the gondola... More

The train winds around the mountain as it ascends the tablelands. The commentary is very good and informative. After a stop at the Barron Falls lookout, the train arrives at picturesque Kuranda Station. After a few hours looking around the shops and stalls, and having lunch, we caught the skyrail back down the mountain to Cairns. A great day out

Trip by railway was lovely but can seem a bit long. Informative commentary along the way. Can get hot in the carriages when Going slow.

Like many others we took the train up and the Sky Rail back. This is a day trip but well worth it. We booked direct through our accommodation manager. Plenty to see and do on the journey there and back and we found Kuranda itself very enjoyable. Some bargains can be found in the markets. Plenty of places to eat.

I booked the package that included hotel pick up, Sky Rail up and the Kuranda Train back. Brilliant. The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is brilliant. My 90yo Dad had no trouble getting in and out (with assistance) and his large walker fitted in with out worry. The view was stunning. There were three stations where you could do things like boardwalk... More

Nice trip from Cairns to Kuranda in a old train! Very intresting experience and the Kuranda village is wonderful. Good activity for one day in Cairns. Relaxing and cultural activity. The price is a little expensive (my oppinion) but the activity is very good. I have really enjoyed this day.

A wonderful journey back in time with great views would of liked a bit more water at the waterfall, but not the right time in December with so little rain. Loved the vintage carriages and a journey woth making.

The journey from Krunda to Freshwater took over half hour through rain forest, waterfalls and wonderful scenic bridges and tunnels. Lovely way to spend a few hours

Went up to Kuranda on the train, not too many views as vegetation seems to block out most of them, but you have to admire the work that went into building the railway line.Kuanda itself is a mish mash of touristy shops selling a lot of stuff that you buy then you get home and wonder why you bought it in the... Beautiful views and an amazing story of the building of the same. Original bridges are all in use just breath taking. We took the sky rail back after wondering the village just perfect.
