Such a lovely place to visit and stroll through the beautifully maintained gardens. There's a very wide range of plants from tropical Queensland as well as a really lovely building that reflects a lot of the greenery. Sadly, it's an administrative building but you can still admire the outside of it. A couple of tea rooms are available.

I love this place and it was my partner's first visit. We both live in North Queensland. I am always delighted visiting the gardens, I go many different times through the year and always see something new. A place to relax and enjoy tropical plants. The Centennial Lakes park also a must, the whole area is wonderful. Love the café... More

A fantastic place to spend several hours wandering the various sections of this huge garden. It covers some 38 hectares in total and comprises formal gardens beds, areas of rainforest, a board walk through a palm forest which gradually changes into a pandanus swamp. There is a visitor centre open only 0.30 to 3.00. Cafes, toilets, seats, information boards and... More

What a lush oasis in the heart of the city. The first thing I will do when I go back is spend a lot longer here

You can drive through the middle of these gardens and there are many parking areas where you can start your tour of the lush greenery. The gardens include a wetlands area, two cafes and some beautiful shady walking tracks. We have visited Cairns on a number of occasions and this is the first time we have ventured to this area.... We took the bus from our hotel to the Botanic Gardens and it took about 10 minutes to get there. It was absolutely beautiful - however we were disappointed that there was reconstruction work going on so the Orchid House was closed.

The Flecker Botanic gardens are a gorgeous and well-maintained. Well worth exploring, but you will need a couple of hours. The cafe serves good food as well.

Friends took me to lunch in the grounds of the Gardens. The restaurant is open to all sides and the lush thick vegetation which was taller than the building created a wonderful green screen. We watched native birds flitting for their insect lunch. Our food was a good size, well and appropriately cooked and very tasty. Overall it was the... More

An oasis in the city. Lovely walk and great food and coffee available at the Gardens Information Centre which is housed in a very attractive and unusual building. A little disappointed that we missed the Orchid House which is currently under reconstruction. Next time!
