The walks are well laid out and easy to follow. Great gardens and trails. We packed a lunch and took the red trail and had a scenic bite while watching the planes land. Enjoyed the rainforest walk, too!

Stunning and well maintained gardens that expand in the mangroves next to it. Good conference location. Very nice restaurant.

Worth spending a day going round if you have some free time....wish we could have gone on the tour but missed the last one. Also do the red and blue arrow walk but start early.

Across the road to Board walk best to Centenary Lakes low on water but still interesting bird life. Well worth checking out. Free with picnic tables and information centre. Did not see everything.

Free to visit lots to see, we enjoyed two visits, ideal to fill a couple of spare hours, no negatives.

This is a wonderful place to go for a walk, have a picnic, go fishing, go bird watching, look at plants, or go to a playground. There are lakes and rivers and even crocodiles. I highly recommend the (free) guided walks. We went on a bird walk and a plant walk (on different days) and both held my 5 year... More

Cairns Botanical gardens are really something else. Just mind the mozzies, we have LOTS! The Greenhouse is full of really fascinating facts and lots of photo ops. There is a restaurant in the gardens to, but if you're in a big group give it a miss, they don't cope too well with too many orders at once. Nice if it's... More

The botanic gardens are stunning and this semi-outdoor cafe is perfect. Service is good but can be a bit hit and miss in terms of speed. Food is good and not super expensive but definitely not for those on a budget. What you're really here for is the surroundings - I go here often and bring visitors to Cairns with... More

The botanic gardens have many beautiful plants and flowers. This is a nice place to walk around and unwind. You can't believe it's free entry. We tried the cafe within the garden, but the service was bit slow, and iced coffee was not so nice.
