When we went it was the wettest day of our stay in Cairns , but to look at the plants they have is just mind blowing It is on our list for our next trip (on a fine day)

Many a day I find time to walk and rest in the shade of the Cairns Tropical Botanical gardens. Something awakens in my senses with this delightful eye candy on presentation. So many fragrances to enhance my time, it is easy to slip into a true sense of relaxation and peace. Birds are plentiful and to the watchers eye the... More

This was a great place to spend a few hours, even after 4 hours we didn't see as much as we would have liked. The tanks sounded a really interesting idea but we hadn't realised they closed so early. The only slight disappointment is that the cafes closed at 3:30 even though the sign said 4:30. If you interested in... More

Little walkways take you thru the "rainforest". Large lawned areas perfect for picnics. HUGE plants/ leaves/ flowers that you don't see in most other places in Australia. Lovely shady cafe.

While on a cairns to Insfail tour today,a GU student showed his photo of the rare event of the annual Corpse plant about to flower. We were at the Gardens yesterday afternoon.you can catch the 331 from the Cbd bus depot. The bus returns in the afternoon at 10 to the hour. The information building is worth a photo too.... More

Like no other botanic gardens I've been to ! Gorgeous shady cool rainforest gardens to explore on a hot day. Many unique native tropical plants and flowers to discover including indigenous bush food and medicines used by local Aboriginal tribes . And you can join a free walking tour available each day ! A good, mainly shaded walk - special plants well - visually notified. A lovely restaurant well into the gardens. Well worth a visit.
