We walked from the city of Cairns along Lilly Creek and walked into a tropical paradise. I saw spoon bills and bush turkeys and many more birds.

Small, but lush with huge tropical plants and an amazing selection flowers during a lot of the year. The orchid house is beautiful and will be even better when the new area is built. Great place to take a picnic or play on the grass with children. Lovely and humid rainforest in the wet season, but take your mosquito repellent!

This place is amazing, so well presented, a real taste of tropical forest. We had a great wander around for over 2 hours, through mangroves, bamboos, ferns, aboriginal tucker grounds and heaps more. The cafe was a bit ordinary though.

Whatever you do go on a guided tour of the gardens. Our... More

We had a leisurely walk from our hotel to these gardens. The weather was very pleasant and we meandered over the boardwalks on the rainforest path. There was a great variety of bamboo which were thick and tall. The ferns were spectacular. Tropical flowers which do not grow in cold climates were beautiful to see. The architecture of the visitor... More
