I have been to these gardens on many occasions. They are currently undertaking some renovations which should make the gardens even better. Would strongly recommend to those attached to gardens and nature.

Interesting collections (such as the Gondwana evolution section), rainforest, birds and a delightful cafe under great architecture make the Carirns Botanic Gardens a very pleasant day out.

As much a feast for the eyes as it was for the nose. These gardens, and the adjacent Tanks cultural center, are a must-see spot on any trip to Cairns. Imagine all the house plants from your local exotic nursery grown up to the scale of Jurassic Park. If you have a philodendron at home, be sure to visit the... More

We stopped off here at the Botanical Gardens, had a coffee amongst the lovely surroundings and a peaceful walk thorough the gardens. Very enjoyable

The quantity of tropical flowers was truly amazing. We loved all the different palm trees and species of tropical flowers. It was a warm day but we felt cool amongst all the palm trees. The main cafe made great coffee.

There is so much to do at the gardens and best of all, it's free! The rainforest boardwalk is beautiful and the lakes are nice to walk around as well. Don't forget your bug spray though - definitely had a few mosquito bites after our visit. Beautiful plants and flowers and lots of ducks and birds at the lakes as... More

So lovely and calming, the plant species are amazing. Great café to grab a bite to eat or a hot/cold drink. Meandering walkways with signs to let you know what you're looking at.

Best of all I enjoyed the Australian Tropical Rainforest area. The tropical plant area of plants from all over the world was also interesting. But take some insect repellent.

These gardens are among the best I've ever visited. Loved the tropical plants and exquisite flowers (many from around the world), plus the beautiful lawn areas for relaxing in the shade. There's also a cafe and a visitor's centre, but you could take a picnic and take advantage of the lawn areas and let kids have a run. There were... More
