Great Snorkeling

We have been snorkeling in Cairns 3 times before but I do believe this was the best so far, so many turtles!

This is a beautiful place with fantastic coral and fish ideal for those not wildly confident in snorkelling. I am not young but enjoyed snorkelling from the beach which was easy as the first part is obviously sand so no fear of stepping or tripping on to coral on the way in or out of the water. It was quite... More

This is a beautiful little cay that our Seastar tour took us. The reef was beautiful here and the coral was diverse. we even saw a reef shark here. The water is colder than some other areas though.

The beauty of the reef and the cute fledgling birds on the island (bracing themselves against the wind on our day) will draw me back to visit another day.

Kid's loved the depth of the water with the reef, plenty of fish, coral and large clams. Would recommend going with a small group/charter after 1pm as the big groups go by 2pm.

We visited the Cay as part of an organised tour and very pleased we did. I have only snorkelled a few times before and being able to snorkel off the beach was great. Plenty of space to leave your belongings on the beach and then nice shallow water to allow you to put on your equipment before swimming out to... More

We did Michaelmas Cay with Ocean Spirit Cruises. It was a fantastic day. The kids could play on the beach and snorkel to their own comfort levels. There was only 1 other company there so we weren't sharing it with thousands of others. The Semi-Submersible was a great way to see deeper into the reef but the snorkelling was fantastic... More

Lovely island tucked away in the Great Barrier Reef. Not crowded at all! Many birds and a wonderful reef with a variety of coral and other marine life.

Fantastic to take young kids for their first snorkeling experience. The little ones can stay close to the shore and still have fish around them, and the older ones can go deeper an discover the coral
