Visited Michaelmas Cay and Hastings Reef with Seastar Cruises and enjoyed every minute of it. Its as exclusive as it gets. They deliver on everything that they promise on their website. Friendly crew and excellent experience.

If you go up to North Queensland you must do a trip to the Reef and this one is a great option out of Cairns. Generally one of the cheapest too! Sail out on a catamaran for about an hour with refreshments onboard and then enjoy a snorkel, dive, glass bottom boat ride or just relax on the island and... More

Highly rate the SeaStar Great Barrier Trip to Michaelmas and Hastings Reef! Low numbers, good price, great staff! Visibility at Hastings was amazing and beautiful fish.

We loved snorkeling at Michealmas Cay. The cruise with the ship was wonderful. On our way back we could see a whale and the creww stops the boat so we had enough time to look at this wonderful animal.

We went here with Seastar - they are the first boat to arrive so you have a good 2 hours snorkelling prior to other boats arriving. The shallow beach makes for easy entry for novice snorkelled. We had our 3 children and only our 5 year old found it tricky! The coral isn't as great as other sites but its... More

Went here as part of a tour of the Great Barrier Reef. As I was in charge of a 4 year old we snorkelled off the beach. A gentle introduction and quite magical.

The accessible area for visitors is small. We sailed on the Ocean Spirit which was a great experience. There weren't many people and it was a very relaxing day. We had plenty to eat and drink. Only gripe was that the tender which collected us was waiting in deep water. Wading on shifting sands with armfuls of gear was scary... More

We went out on the Ocean Spirit, a large catamaran. The staff were very friendly and helpful, taking time to explain the reef and it's inhabitants. The day we went was a bit rainy and windy, and the current was a bit strong so swimming around the reef was a challenging for weak swimmers.

Unfortunately we chose a day which was cold and very windy, the sea was extremely choppy and not very pleasant. The island was not very nice as being cold and windy we could not sit and enjoy sunshine on the sand and because of the rough seas snorkelling was almost impossible and one had to go quite far out yo... this is by far my favourite reef to visit. it has an array of fish species and corals and you can swim straight off the beach. massive trevallies and trout and they are all very tame so you can get very close which is great for photography.
