Fantastic day out. Staff sensational. Fantastic value for money. Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Cheese & Biscuits with a glass of sparkle provided. Semi submersible worth doing if unable to snorkel.

Took a trip to michaelmas cay with one of the organized tourist catamarans. It was a small and beautiful sandbank in the middle of nothing, full with birds. The island is surrounded by lots of small fishes, so perfect place for snorkling as well. I would for sure go back to this place with the catamarans if visiting cairns again.... More

It's one of the best places to visit while in Cairns. Most people go to Green Island or Fitzroy Island these are very commercialised and have caused major damage to coral, fish and wildlife, this is while Michaelmas Cay is a much better option to see exotic fish and wildlife, it's a lot more nature and untouched. It makes for... More

Beautiful bird sanctuary and great snorkeling! A must see for anyone who wishes to experience an underwater wonderland...simply magnificent with birds everywhere and breathtaking views! One of the most fish friendly places I have ever experienced with so much to see. Highly recommended :)

visited Michaelmas Cay with Seastar Cruises and it is a great Great Barrier reef location. The Cay itself is a thriving bird community, with a golden sand fringe. Snorkel straight off the beach to sections of reef in decent water depth, up to about 8M, showing off some incredible coral, fish and turtles. Really worth a trip.

I went here with my tour on SeaStar cruses (amazing!!!), and this Cay was so beautiful!! Right off a sand island, it has so much to see! Swimming with turtles, beautiful fish, and reef sharks was a once in a lifetime experience!

Spent the most amazing day on the ocean spirit michaelmas cay cruise. I did my first scuba dive in the most beautiful part of the world. The cruise had excellent friendly staff and provided great food and drinks the whole day. All the staff were amazing especially my scuba instructor Ty. I will remember this amazing experience for the rest... More

It was hard to snorkel because of strong currents and low temperature at least in August. There are not so many fish or other sea animals.

We took a day trip out to Michaelmas Cay. Nice spot for a bit of snorkelling. Lots of birds, nature at its best out in the reef. We also did a semi-submersible tour and was impressed by the corals and fish.
