Fresh Vegetables and lunch

Excellent place for fresh vegetables. Great juices and Asian food. Opens at 5 am and closes early afternoon. So get their early. Not a bad location for lunch and reasonably priced.

Spent a good hour or so just wandering in the markets - and stocked up on some delicious local fruit and veg to enjoy back at the apartment. Fresh and fabulous foods (some I've never seen before), excellent prices, and a bustling atmosphere too. There's also a bunch of cheap clothing and jewellery outlets here - not really my thing... It's great to have so many stalls under one roof, selling fruits, vegetables, coffee, honey, art and craft, etc! Prices for fruits are roughly half that of supermarkets and you could get really fresh produce here. Some stalls offer free sampling too. There is also a Thai food stall which seemed really popular with locals and students. Tip There is... More

We came to Cairns and did self catering for 10 Days. Rusty's Markets were excellent for the variety of fresh fruit. The other bonus for us were the food stalls where you could purchase takeaway meals - Thai place near CoffeeWorks stall was our favourite.

We like to buy the fruit from the fruit stand (especially try the fresh coconut water). They are fresh and local. You can also find some souvenir in this market. Good place to buy fruit beside Woolworth.

Friday morning, every week, a sleepy block between the Grafton street and the Sheridan Street in Cairns comes alive with bustling stalls leaden with fruits and vegetables, and the shoppers buying up the fresh goodies. Rusty’s Markets is an icon, a Cairns institution that entices the locals as well as the tourists. With good reason. Australia has stringent rules, enforced... More

A great place to go to get something to eat which is fresh and at a reasonable price. There are all the tropical fruits, salad vegetables and vegetables. There also other types of spices and foods that may be purchased. The area is made up of many stalls and you need to have a good walk around to see what... More

I loved being able to go and buy some fresh and yummy tasting produce. The stall even cut the watermelon for me and put into containers so I could take to our sporting event. Also had some jewellery and clothing and coffee.
