Didn't actually go in the pool, but it looks great. Clean and huge. Right on waterfront, so you get a clean beach without all the mess of the sea water. Those using the pool looked happy and refreshed.

OMG. This is one of the greatest places on Earth. Allocate at least two full days. I went seven straight - all sun-soaked - and am now an expert on latest bikini fashion: multi-coloured with sorta Egyptian-style patterns printed in black on both pieces.

The easiest way to enjoy the swim in Cairns: the ocean by the esplanade doesn't allow to swim, but with the lagoon you don't need anything else. Very big, open till late (sep 2012 was till 10pm) and really clean area all around. Lots of trees if you don't like stay under the strong aussie sun...

This is a beautifully designed swimming lagoon, a great way to get some water fun when in Cairns. The sea is dangerous in this part of the world--crocodiles, sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish are all dangers in this part of the world, but the lagoon is safe and in a seaside setting. Don't miss it!

The lagoon is a perfect place to visit anytime in the day and simply relax. We spent several afternoons lying next to it and found it a great place to simply chill.

Despite having a pool at our accommodation, my son (10 years old) preferred this pool. It was nice and big, and it was a great way to cool off. However, I suspect the gelato place nearby was a motivation to swim there. Also it was free. A great place for families. A slide would be nice.

This was our view from our hotel room every day and night - which was just stunning. Loved walking through the lagoon. Beautifully set amongst gorgeous gardens.
