Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier...

Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier Reef with a coral cay island. In only 1 1/4 hours the fast air-conditioned Seastar 1 can take you from Cairns to magnificent Michaelmas Cay, the largest of the local uninhabited coral cays. Cruising past Green Island, Upolu cay and Oyster reef Seastar is the first boat to arrive. After an enjoyable time here it is a short 20 minute cruise to the splendid Hastings Reef sitting on the very outer edge. This is where the corals thrive, well out from the coast away from the influence the rivers and streams, adjacent to the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. You will have 2 1/2 hours at each location. Plenty of time to go snorkeling, do a introductory dive, relax on the beach of the Island or join a tour in the Glass Bottom Boat at Hastings Reef. The day cruise on Seastar inlcudes Morning/Afternoon tea, high quality snorkel equipment, Wetsuit or Lycra suit (depending on the time of year), Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Hot & Cold Buffet Lunch, Reef Interpretation & Guided Snorkel Tours on each spot.

We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, and we saw so many cool creatures while snorkelling - a sea turtle, a reef shark, a baracuda, lots of fishies, and the most beautiful coral. The lunch was decent and there was enough room to chill out with your friends (we were a group of 7). The staff were so enthusiastic... More

First of all, the Great Barrier Reef is amazing, one of the best things I have done. It's a must whilst in Cairns. I booked with Seastar after reading reviews on tripadvisor and I wasn't disappointed. The crew were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable - a credit to the company. The entire day was so well organised from start to finish... More

It was our first time to snorkel in Australia. Good thing we followed Tripadvisor's rating. Its actually better to go with small numbers of group because staff can really look after you. They were all accommodating and made sure that we're receiving the best treatment. The food was ok, but who's there to think about it when your main goal... More

We really enjoyed the Reef tour we did with Seastar and we are completely satisfied with our choice. Charming people who are real professionalists and showed us the beauty of the Reef which is unforgetable experience!

The staff goes above and beyond to make sure every one has a good time. The boat is very well equipped, the snorkel gear was top notch, the food was good and there were plenty of options. My husband and I went snorkeling, and the guides made sure we had a good experience. One man had never been snorkeling and... More

Went on the cruise today and it was awesome! the boat crew are really funny and laid back but they are professional and helpful at the same time. Was good to see the two different reef locations! would recommend but keep in mind the boat is fast and rocks around a lot, sit on the front bow and it helps... More

This was our first trip to the reef and the organisation was excellent. Food and equipment were all included in the price. The staff were very helpful, especially in teaching first-timers to use the snorkelling equipment. Swimming over the reef, above brightly coloured fish and even turtles, was absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately our original boat's engine was down for the day so we took the new Skedaddle boat out to the reef. Although the space was a little tight for a full-day trip, the new equipment and powerful motor were nice. We got to the sites and back to land about twice as fast as the original ship. The reef itself... More

I have read a lot of reviews and found it very hard to pick a company. I really enjoyed my day out with Seastar. I was alone and found the staff very friendly. It is very nice that the price includes everything, no hidden cost. Food, (welcome tea/coffee+muffin, buffet lunch, afternoon tea and cake), snorkel equipment, stinger suit, life vest,... More

This was our second day trip to the Reef while in Cairns. It definitely lived up to its prior reviews! Although the boat was a little crowded at the start, once we arrived at our first snorkeling spot it was more roomy for the rest of the day. The first tour was great - it took off from the shore...
