It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide. « less

We enjoyed the tour. Paul was a personable guide who gave us information about native animals you could see in Cairns and in the rainforest. Wallabies in the suburban pastures, bats in Cairns centre, then off to the rainforest for an informative stroll, and afternoon tea. Heard a rifle bird and whip bird and several others, Paul had a nice tablet... More

I've been on many, many tours before. Often, I'm faced with someone who has not known much about specific questions that I ask. Paul is completely different to that. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and accepting of all passengers, regardless of their ability to speak English. The beauty of this tour is that, not only do you get to see... More

This was a great tour, we got to see lots of locations in the Wet Tropics WHA rainforest and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Paul was a great guide, he knew facts about everything from fungi to mammals with all the rest in between. He always had something new and interesting to show us! The weather was a bit cold,... More

This is a wonderful rainforest tour. The majestic forest. The impressive figs. The winding road. The lovely little creatures: bats, wallabies, green ants (be careful, they taste very very sour), the archer fish, the turtle that can breathe from their bottom, the 20 cents (platypus), the possums and many more...and the night tour was awesome. Although I have to admit... More

My wife and I took a 4 day break from the cold Melbourne weather to celebrate our 10 year marriage anniversary. So with 4 days we wanted to get the maximum out of our time and decided to do 1 day snorkeling, 1 day of rainforest and one night animal spotting tour. So we found this flyer of wait-a-while and... Myself, husband and 2 boys, 10 and 12 yrs old, had a fantastic afternoon and evening with Paul. The platypus were very obliging so we got a good view of 2 of them - no other tourists around so it felt like a special discovery! Food lovely and night torch spotting was good fun. Bring an extra jumper if you're... More

So glad you enjoyed it. The boys are a real credit to you both. The way they helped Leocardia was awesome. Thank you. More

I take reviews on tripadvisor very seriously. And I have never written a bad one about anyone, but this one really shocked me. My husband and I went to Australia for one month, we did tons of tours and this tour was the worst. In fact this was the worst tour I have ever been on in my entire life.... More

Wow it sounds like you had a terrible time with us and I am really sorry about that. It is strange that you waited a whole year to comment though. A lot can change in that time. For instance the guide you referred to is no longer associated with us and certain elements of the tour are also different now.... More

I took a three week trip to Australia and New Zealand and this was one of my favorite tours. Paul was a fantastic guide - funny, personable and very knowledgeable. I'd recommend this tour for anyone who has any interest in flora and fauna or the history of how Australia developed, or just likes a nice (but very manageable) hike.... More

Could see some shy platypus in a pond. The night walk was awesome! Dinner delicious and the tour guide has a big knowledge about the flora and fauna of the rainforest! Well done! I can highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in Australian wildlife!

Seeing the night creatures of the rainforest was a magical experience. Paul is an entertaining and knowledgeable guide, the van is comfortable, and the barramundi served up at Nicks in Yungabarra was very good. Saw a platypus in the wild. Lots more of course, but you will have to do the tour to find out.
