It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide. « less

This was the best wildlife tour I have ever been. The guide knows exactly where to take us to spot animals and see interesting nature (views, plants). My husband and I are biologists and we were amazed by the high quality information that we received during the tour. It is an excelent opportunity to see nature, if you want to... More

Very enjoyable and relaxed tour with some differences to other tours available in Cairns: Small group, late start, less driving, more being out of the bus, fairly relaxed pace, lots of animals in the wild, no full-on, constant commentary, but nevertheless very informative, exciting spot-lighting with the element of not knowing what you might see. Paul, our guide, was good... More

This was our 30th wedding anniversary so we pulled out all the stops, staying at luxury lodges and being really picky about our tours. We had just spent 4 days in the Daintree Rainforest, had a wonderful time, but we didn't see any animals so when we arrived at the Kewarra Beach Resort, we thought, give it one more go,... More

Thought this was a great tour. Extremely informative and got to see a wild platypus which was what really drew us in. The guide was great and knew his stuff. It was about $200 but it lasted all day and until about 10pm but dinner and a snack is served through the trip. Lots of walking so bring appropriate shoes... More

Although everything in the tour is 5min from the road this was an adventure. Animal sighting in the city was very interesting - we had gone under the tree with the flying foxes the day before and failed to notice them until the tour. The platypus was amazing - we watched these little animals swim back and forth along the... More

My sister and I enjoyed our rainforest wildlife tour with Paul. He was extremely knowledgeable and we got to see 2 platypus! Since we weren't able to rent a car, this was a great way to experience more of the Cairns area other than the reef and Kuranda. We saw agile wallabies, water dragons, big buttress roots, opossums, and flying... More

We took a full day tour with Paul which was superb in every respect. We visited rainforest, saw mighty strangler fig trees, crater lakes where we saw freshwater turtles and waterfalls with a fabulous off-road trip in his 4x4. We went platypus spotting at dusk, although they didn't show themselves for us, but reading the other reviews it seems we... More

Paul, the owner and guide provided a unique experience. Although I had already spent 10 days in Cairns, he revealed more of the urban wildlife than I had even noticed. Moving on to the Tablelands, his wealth of information about the area, despite being an expat Englishman, and collegial manner made for a wonderful afternoon and evening. Dinner was good at... More

Excellent expertise in wildlife, and the ecological background. Good array of species seen, many of which are very hard to spot.

We enjoyed the tour. Paul was a personable guide who gave us information about native animals you could see in Cairns and in the rainforest. Wallabies in the suburban pastures, bats in Cairns centre, then off to the rainforest for an informative stroll, and afternoon tea. Heard a rifle bird and whip bird and several others, Paul had a nice tablet... More
