Description: 'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day/night...
'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day/night rainforest wildlife tours. It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide.

We took this tour as it was convenient for us being we had returned from a dive trip in the morning. Paul (tour guide) really knows his stuff and our kids had a great time. You will get to see parts of Queensland and wildlife you really didn't know existed if you never left Cairns.

The tour is exactly as advertised. Checked out some local wallabies and flying foxes. Licked some ants. Swung on a vine. Biggest highlight for me was seeing two elusive platypi and a tree kangaroo. Topped off with a spotlight stroll to check out some spiders, three kinds of possums and bandicoots. Thanks Paul for making this an awesome experience :)

There's a lot out there that you wouldn't find unless an expert showed you and Paul did just that. He knew his environment like the back of his hand, was hugely informed and enthusiastic, and communicated knowledge at levels that everyone could deal with. He also had the knowledge to answer more demanding and technical questions over and above the... More

Being a big fan of wildlife, I was excited to go on this night "safari" tour which I definitely wouldn't have been able to do on my own. Paul, the owner of the company, made sure the tour was exciting and educational without being over the top. He was also very responsive to email and I got a response regarding... More

A fantastic tour with a very knowledgible guide. Great tips for further independant explorationof this amazing area, "Tommy Paul" showed us a variety of wildlife and kept the group moving, but with tea and dinner breaks, not physically demanding. We toured in March and it was a good break from the heat for an afternoon and evening. Thanks again< Paul. Daryl... More

A small group day-night visit to the rainforests of the Atherton Tablelands. After seeing the amazing sight of fields of wallabies in suburban Cairns we drove up to the Tablelands via what must be the windiest and steepest section of road in Australia (19km and 150 hairpin bends so not the best for anyone liable to travel sickness!). During daylight... More

Excellent tour and well worth the money, time and adventure. Paul does an excellent and entertaining night tour of the wildlife. Nick's Restaurant serves excellent food and cold beer (we liked the XXXX on tap). We were all glad to have had the wonderful experience.

Paul picked my wife and I up from the hotel. We were the only two he had that day but nevertheless he enthusiastically guided us through the rain forest. Most of the day it rained but it didn't dampen the spirits. Thought the giant fig trees were amazing. The main highlights have to be spotting the rare species such as... More
