Description: 'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day/night...
'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day/night rainforest wildlife tours. It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide.

If you want to see Aussie animals in their natural habitat then do this trip. Guide Paul is excellent, he has great knowledge and enthusiasm about the animals. Paul enhanced experience by using pictures on tablet of animals we would expect to see. Great adventure at night walking on boardwalk in rainforest guided by Paul's headlamp. Amazing how he could... Highly recommend Wait-a-While rainforest tours - we had a fantastic afternoon and evening with our small intimate group and our guide Paul. It was an amazing experience we saw all the species we wanted to see, particular highlight was the Platypus. We went on other tours whilst in Cairns and this one is very different, it is personal which is... More

This was a whistle stop tour of well trodden viewing points. The whole trip was interesting and informative with the platypus in the pond and the number of possum sightings being far more than expected. The only major downside is that it is rather expensive especially for a family.

Amazing array of wildlife, wallabies, bats, platypus, and then after dark, tree kangaroo, lesser sooty owl holding dinner - a rare green ring tail possum and bats. Leaf tail gecko, spiders, bandicoot and common brush tail possum and copper ring tail possum. Excellent dinner at Nick's restaurant. Paul is a excellent guide with lots of knowledge of the local wildlife... More

We saw platypus, wallabies, bush kangaroos, a bandicoot, three sorts of opossum, two sorts of bat, huntsman spider, ibis, jacana, curlew, plus plus. Includes good dinner stop. Excellent trip, highly recommended.

Had a blast on this trip. We were able to see a platypus, tree kangaroo, several types of possum (including the rare green ring tail), a bandicoot, and a lesser sooty owl. Great food at Nicks restaurant. Would recommend this tour when visiting Cairns.

Our tour guide, Paul, was really great person. He was very kind and extremely knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. Our tour guide (Paul) had a really keen eye for the nocturnal creatures and he kept us all very safe and secure. The tour my parents and I went on was one of the best Night Tours!

We took this tour as it was convenient for us being we had returned from a dive trip in the morning. Paul (tour guide) really knows his stuff and our kids had a great time. You will get to see parts of Queensland and wildlife you really didn't know existed if you never left Cairns.

The tour is exactly as advertised. Checked out some local wallabies and flying foxes. Licked some ants. Swung on a vine. Biggest highlight for me was seeing two elusive platypi and a tree kangaroo. Topped off with a spotlight stroll to check out some spiders, three kinds of possums and bandicoots. Thanks Paul for making this an awesome experience :)
