The trip to Ribbon Reef startet the worst possible way; The airconditioning didnt work, and was tried fixed all afternoon/evening, but unsuccessfully and the boat had to return to harbour to get it fixed, but DDSD had a solution, we went out to GBR with their dayboat for diving/snorkeling while they fixed the boat. We eventually went out on friday... More

Cairns has lot of diving tours and we looked really carefully to find a safe and good one, because I received my divers lisence recently. But this 4 night tour in Oktober with deep sea divers den and taka was just amazing and more than we had expected! The equipment they do provide was high quality! The crew knows how... More

We did our intro diving and snorkelling with these guys and it was amazing, we were nervous to do our dive but our guide helped us and calmed us and made us feel really good. They take you to awesome dive sites and you sea great amount of fish and coral. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend... More

My name is Susan, and I went on a 2day/1night trip with DSDD. I am a certified diver and have done about 15 dives at the Great Barrier Reef so far. I stayed in a twin room, which, besides 2 beds with very comfortable matrasses, had fair bit of closet space, a tv, a little desk with chair, an ensuite... More

I did the introductory day course and it was worth every dollar. All members of staff were very nice, my instructor was very good at his job and was very patient with us getting used to the experience of breathing, the masks etc. I paid an extra $50 to do another dive which was even better and had more time... As the title suggests there was ups and downs! Ups: Staff on board were great, funny and helpful. The reef was just amazing and the fish life, coral etc was another world. Diving instruction was good and clear and We always felt safe. Downs: The outside seating area was small for the amount of people on board, everyone was siting... More

Had a great day with Divers Den. I am an experienced diver (30+ years ) wanting to dive the GBR. This day trip suited me because, frankly I didn't want to do the live-a-board thing with novice divers - a day trip with 3 dives was enough. Divers Den was well organised and catered for me, despite the large numbers... More

There's a lot of elements to this trip that I'll go over in detail, but I will say that overall, this experience was absolutely magical for me. It was my first and only time diving, so I have little to compare it to, but I came away the happiest lady alive. The SeaQuest catamaran that transferred us to the OceanQuest... More

I have just returned from Cairns after some holidaying including spending 4 nights with TAKA diving up and down the Ribbon Reef. My partner and I booked with TAKA for our first trip on a liveaboard and our first time on the Great Barrier Reef. We were both quite impressed with the boat, the crew and the dive locations themselves.... More

This is a very basic trip. It was most unimpressive from the very beginning. When you get to the jetty, you must line up while the staff inside process each individual before they can be fitted with gear and sit down. It took over an hour - so even tho they claim the trip starts at 8 - we were... More
