These guys run a super tight operation- the dive gear is safe and well-cared for, the guides really knowledgeable and friendly, the dive sites uncrowded and beautiful. The chef made me my own special vegan options, and came out personally to make sure I was getting enough to eat and that I was happy! The boat is spacious and comfortable-... More

Did my 5 day PADI course with these guys and it was nothing but amazing. Started my first two days off doing theory and spending time in the pool with my super knowledge, fun and kind instructor Cory! Then did 3d/2n on the liveaboard which was the best few days I've had here in Australia. Awesome staff, amazing food (Even... More

My wife & I had a fantastic trip on the Taka in early June, on the 4-day Ribbon Reef Explorer trip. We have snorkelled a number of different places around the South Pacific and Indonesia, but had never seen our own Great Barrier Reef. We finally decided to go but did not want to do day trips to all the... More

Absolutely marvellous trip taken at the end of the dwarf Minke Whale season (24-28 July). We were lucky enough to spot three Minkes, all of which swam within a few metres of us while we snorkelled nearby. Taka crew are very protective of these beautiful and curious creatures, and any swimming interaction with the whales is undertaken within strict guidelines... More

In search of warm water to get winter dives in we joined the crew of Ocean Quest for the 3day/2night LiveAboard cruise. Lucky enough to catch the crew swapping out for their rotation we were pleasantly surprised by their professionalism and consideration for us as experienced divers. We had the pleasure of Josh, the sensational chef, Mitch on his maiden... More

I did a fair bit of research trying to find an outer reef day trip company who would cater for the reasonably experienced SCUBA diver, rather than just another boat full of tourists....this wasn't it. The boat had approx 70 people on board, only 8 of whom were certified divers. Instead of paying the extra $15 to dive with a... More

110% recommend this company to anyone who wants to do the Great Barrier Reef and have an amazing experience! We looked into a few different companies for this trip and was recommended by our travel agent - and it did not disappoint! As with any boat trip the sea can become quiet rough so I recommend taking anti sickness tablets... More

I stayed for a three day liveabord on Ocean Quest. In hindsight, this was a bit short. First day is mostly spent on transferring from Cairns with Sea Quest to Ocean Quest. As an experienced diver, the Sea Quest dives was a bit of a draft in comparison with the dive sites offered from Ocean Quest in the outer parts... More

I did the 3D 2N liveaboard the Ocean Quest. As mentioned in other reviews the first two dives was from the Sea Quest. I've actually been on more crowded vessels before so I had no problem. The Ocean Quest was excellent! The staff and guides are brilliant, friendly and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend getting a guide for the... More
