how wonderful it is to have churches where one can sneak in for a few moments of peace, prayer, meditation or just as a tourist looking around. This is one of Brisbane's oldest churches and although not big and imposing, has a grace and serenity of its own in the centre of the city. Don't miss it!

This Pugin designed chapel is the original St Stephen's Church before the cathedral was completed. It was renovated and redesigned in the mid 90s to honour (now) St Mary of the Cross Mackillop - our first and so far only official saint who was committed to taking education to the poor and remote children of Australia. Mary worshipped in this... More

Our son suggested we take a quick look in the cathedral and old chapel and we got far more than we g could have guessed. The architecture is quite fine, but more interesting was the information and story provided by the lovely lady that was a volunteer that day. she was very happy to point out the art work and... Religious or not, don't miss this historical find. I have been to many weddings here and it is always breathtaking.

This was an OK place to visit but it did not blow my socks off. There are better and more elaborate structures overseas. It would certainly contain a lot of history and for those that like history it would be great to have a tour and learn about it.

Taking a free guided tour of the Cathedral is a must. The Cathedral, and the Mary MacKillop Chapel, are beautiful. The guides are personable and have lots of interesting information to share. The tour is well-suited to both students and adults.

Great location, in the heart of Brisbane. Check the website to get the Mass schedule. They also offer free tours.

A place for quiet reflection, prayer or mass - the high ceilings mean that it is cool. The services are always solemn but welcoming, if there is a multicultural mass, get there for that, the singing is divine

Enjoyed looking around. Beautiful church. A volunteer explained various features of the church to us. Well worth the visit.
