The State Library has a dedicated area for kids called 'The Corner' with songs, dance, books, plays areas and craft activities. In school holidays it also has lots of other things going on. A great place to take small children (up to 6/7 years).

I love this library. As a genealogist it is my go to place for research. There are power points for laptops and phones, free internet and the staff while limited are helpful. Just ensure you respect the fact that they are busy and be patient.

We visited the State Library on a day of activities for children. Wow! They certainly know how to entertain the littlies - storytelling, hands-on craft, drama - great for families during the long holidays. The convenient cafe served good coffee and snacks as well as more substantial meals and we took advantage of the undercover area in the fresh air.

Had 2 hours to "waste"!! What a find! Could have spey the day there - searching, reading and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere. Desk staff service was excellent and informative. A great way to get lost!

Popped in here whilst wandering around the South Bank. It looked like an interesting place with lots of resources available. There was an Aboriginal exhibition on when I visited which I found interesting and colourful.

Whenever I am in Brisbane I make a point of visiting the State Library. It is in a great location overlooking the river in the southbank cultural precinct. The architecture is great with a lovely mixing of indoor/outdoor spaces that suits Brisbane's subtropical climate. They have a number of exhibition areas which always have interesting things to look at. The... More

You have not seen a library if you have not been to this one. You will easily walk around this amazing place for an hour or more. If you cannot find what you are looking for ask one of the expert librarians. They are only too happy to assist.
