So many people hang around the edges of the State Library just for the free wifi but they miss the hidden gems inside. Currently there is a magnificent exhibition called 'Distant Lands' which is a fascinating expose about WWI and how it affected Queenslanders. I've also seen music being performed there. Kids attractions. Rappers and graffiti artists. Don't think of... More

As well as a library this place also has amazing free high speed wifi internet. If you sit outside on the river side you will easily be able to log in.

The first thing I always notice when I go into the Qld State Library is the willingness of staff to assist. On this visit it commenced from when we checked our bag into cloak on the ground floor ( no charge) and continued when we went up to the floor that houses the Music library as well as the section... Being an avid bibliophile, I adore the State Library of Queensland. The surroundings, with the Library being right on the river and near GOMA, are gorgeous and perfect for spending time, lying on the grass and reading those borrowed books. The Brisbane Writer's Festival often uses the Library for the festival events and sideshows, so keep an eye out for... More

This is a magnificent educational resource for any age. It is located at the cultural hub of Brisbane city and is a short walk to the Museum, GOMA, shopping precinct, and Southbank Parklands. It offers plenty of parking both at the library or surrounding areas- though there is a fee for doing so. The library has been known to host... More

A must see to further appreciate the sacrifice made for us by not only the servicemen and women, but the families at home. The coverage includes the men fighting, diaries of the nurses and one from a prisoner of war. Takes a few hours to fully appreciate the display. There is a nice café/restaurant where you can have a break.... More

We visited the library to see the Voices of ANZAC display and this was a well thought out and put together display, which showed the First World War from a Queensland perspective. Congrats to the staff for your presentation, it was worth the visit.

the library is in a great location in South Bank with plenty on offer to do surrounding it, including the Gallery of Modern art. The library is new, spacious and modern, Is very comfortable and there are some great facilities inside to enjoy. Plenty of tables an chairs, desks and even lounges to relax in.

Very friendly and helpful staff at the inquiry desk, who appear to make every one feel welcome to come and use the space. The ground floor is spacious and quiet with lots of computers and two phone charging stations. A lovely library cafe adjacent, good coffee and fresh food. Thank you Brisbane for providing such a great place for people... More
