The Brisbane River is perfect for adventure, leisure and recreation. Go kayaking, stand up paddleboarding or take a trip on a City Cat. Celebrate the Brisbane River at a Riverfire function or just have a picnic in the riverside parkland. The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a great vantage point to see the Brisbane River, or go rock climbing or abseiling with Riverlife Adventure Centre. Try Story Bridge Adventure climb, cycle, rollerblade or go for a jog. Dance with the local aboriginal tribe, Mirrabooka or visit South Bank. However you look at it you can't visit Brisbane without experiencing the River. Then cruise out to Tangalooma Island Resort for a must do experience. Enjoy!

Every time we visit Brisbane, we take the City Cat ferry up river to St Lucia, then back down river to Hamilton, not far from Brisbane docks. It is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy all the sights beside the river. You can get off at any of the stops along the way to explore the area, then take... More

Starting in the suburbs and walking to the bustling city centre on a concrete very flat path, suited for running, cycling, skating, walking (with or without buggies, ...) On one side the rivier, on the other old warehouses (wool, sugar), nice apartments, trees, ... Nice were the frequent drinking fountains and even clean toilet facilities. Brisbane itself offers plenty of... More

We had a wonderful day enjoying the sights while cruising up the river in the kitty cats. A fantastic, comfortable and relaxing way to take in some of Brisbane's highlights.

Enjoy Brisbane river via the free hop on hop off ferry or the Citycat. A great vantage point to explore. If you are staying near the hop on hop off ferry then it means easy access to the city from Kangaroo Point.

As Brisbane residents we may take this facility for granted. However a trip on the River Cat every couple of months is worth the time. We went yesterday and it was brilliant and cheap. A tip for residents, park at the Toowong Commuter car park, a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Then take the first ferry heading UP... More

The Brisbane River Meanders through Brisbane and forms an integral part of its personality. There are numerous parks and walkways along the river that provide vantage points from the banks or the City Cat service from on the river. The river is a little murky and I don't think I'd go swimming in it but people do regularly fish from... More

The Brisbane River runs through the heart of the city. There are a number of walking paths along side the river throughout Brisbane. The City Cat is a great way to take advantage of the locations along the river such as Portside, the City, Southbank and the University of Queensland. My husbsnd and I enjoyed looking at the riverfrom Southbank... More

We have spend 4 days in Brisbane doing sightseeing. The riverside is just amazing wether you enjoy it on foot for a walk, on one of the many boats, tours to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary or at night where there is a lot of activity in the bars. Just amazing....we have really enjoyed our stay in Brisbane
