Meandered to this gallery following a recommendation from a friend. A leisurely stroll along beautiful South Bank beside the Brisbane river bought us to this wonderful gallery. It, with it's sister gallery (QAG - pre 1970) are well worth a visit. It was a day of exploring women in art. The QAG exhibition "Modern Women- daughters and lovers 1850-1918" is... More

Most dispalys had a kid-friendly description to engage younger visitors. Gorgeous views. The aboriginal collection was terrific. More

The QLD Govt has done itself proud with this Gallery. It punches well above it's weight and I doubt you'll find a better one than this in our part of the world. More

The Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art is situated at South Bank, on the banks of the Brisbane River. Both are free. The Qld Art Gallery has art from the 1800s up to the 1970s and GOMA has art from 1970 onwards. The Qld Art Gallery is a beautiful building - with a fantastic Coffee shop. You can... More

Went to GoMA again last weekend to learn that all current exhibitions are free yet worthwhile. There's top Qld student exhibition, Aboriginal work that's interesting and various others... Worth a visit for an hour or 2. GoMA shop is also worth a look. More

This place is THE BEST. So many different unique everchanging displays. Fantastic for kids. Most school holidays the GOMA puts on extra activities for the kids but other times are still excellent. From Huge Fluffy material forests to Robots, Live Bird art, big spirally slippery slide, ghost towns, a real moose covered in glasss baubbles the list is endless. None... More
