Owner description: Museum of Brisbane is located on Level 3 of the newly restored Brisbane City Hall. Our story is Brisbane's story - the lives of those who lived here, the events that have shaped our history and the places that we hold dear. As a museum dedicated to the city, we celebrate the people, places and stories of Brisbane. Museum of Brisbane presents these stories through an innovative mix of social history and visual arts. Every exhibition is an opportunity to discover more about ourselves and our city. Our carefully curated events, workshops and tours are designed to help you delve even deeper. We are a space where stories unfold - a place for meaningful dialogue; enjoyable, entertaining experiences; and a place to explore and share in the identity of Brisbane. While the Museum's story is only 10 years old, we are the narrators of a story far older: Brisbane's story.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how interesting I found this museum. I don't know what I was expecting but everything you want to know about Brisbane is right here. We stayed for a couple of hours but it could have been much longer. Not to be missed.

What a surprise! 3 excellent exhibitions when we visited plus the trip up the clock tower for a fantastic view and all housed in a beautiful period building. A must do experience!

I really enjoy going here, in King George Square. They always have interesting exhibitions, we also got up to the clock tower. The staff are really dedicated to the job and very helpful. It is a great spot to learn a bit more about Brisbane and it's free!

The Museum of Brisbane is in the City hall which is a marvel in itself now that it has been restored and renovated. Today there was the Indie market which is on about once a month and should be looked out for. Many rooms of wonderful creativity and unique gift ideas. The Museum is on level. 3 and there are... Thanks Pauline K for coming in and leaving us a review. We are very proud of the new space on Level 3 and love people coming to visit. We have a new exhibition opening 13 February (replacing David Malouf and friends), so hope you can come back and see us soon. More

Free museum but not so much to see. There was a special exhibition on Hollywood costumes which was worth the visit, then a film on the River and that's pretty it. You can get tickets to go up to the clock from the reception - book early as places are limited and waiting time can therefore be long.

Were were surprised to find that one of the interesting attractions of this museum is the bell tower. We were lucky to be able to take part in a tour of the bell tower, travelling up in an historical (but well maintained elevator) to see Brisbane City from up high. The rest of this little museum was also very interesting... More

Really glad you had a chance to see Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood. The exhibition has had great feedback and we love having people finally come check... More

I love this museum that takes you into a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Brisbane city life. The recent renovation and relocation makes this place a highlight of our city. It has great views from its windows which reminded me a little of the view from the round window of the Musee D'Orsay. The museum's... More

To learn about Brisbane's origins and the history of development, the Brisbane City Council museum at the City Hall is the place to go. Permanent and temporary exhibitions alike are informative and interesting. Well curated with informative friendly staff, allow 1 1/2 hours to take it in. The museum shop has the usual array of stuff for sale, but there... More

Great for kids and adults. I think it has been my third visit to the museum and I have always been impressed. Nice cafe, free internet. Free to enter unless you want to see the special exhibits. If you are in Brisbane you should really visit this museum.
