Owner description: Museum of Brisbane is located on Level 3 of the newly restored Brisbane City Hall. Our story is Brisbane's story - the lives of those who lived here, the events that have shaped our history and the places that we hold dear. As a museum dedicated to the city, we celebrate the people, places and stories of Brisbane. Museum of Brisbane presents these stories through an innovative mix of social history and visual arts. Every exhibition is an opportunity to discover more about ourselves and our city. Our carefully curated events, workshops and tours are designed to help you delve even deeper. We are a space where stories unfold - a place for meaningful dialogue; enjoyable, entertaining experiences; and a place to explore and share in the identity of Brisbane. While the Museum's story is only 10 years old, we are the narrators of a story far older: Brisbane's story.

It is in a historic building: perhaps heritage listed. You'll start taking pictures even before you enter the museum- beautiful building. And when you enter the building, museum employees are most likely the friendliest people you have ever known. Museum itself is interesting. It is not that small that you feel cheated, and not that big that you get bored.... More

We went here on a wet Saturday afternoon with active children. it was great! Very interactive and plenty for our 5 and 8 year olds to do. The science show with balloons was educational and fun (the big bang at the end reminded me of old school science experiments!) Definitely something you have to take the kids to if you... More

Though a small museum by world standards, this recently upgraded Museum in Brisbane's Cultural precinct offers a variety of natural and man made exhibits which should suit all interests. Highly recommended for kids and school excursions, in particular with some of the interactive displays.

The museum is extremely comprehensive and very interesting. If you check their on-line site you can find current exhibitions. It's free entry however sometimes there is a small charge to a particular exhibion. It's quite easy to get to via public transport. I usually train to central and walk up the mall and over the bridge but there is an... More

Thanks for leaving a review Charliegirl51, but you might have us confused with Queensland Museum at South Bank. Next time you catch the train in though, stop at Central and pop into our Museum, we're on Level 3 of City Hall. A really great place to visit and browse; the photos are excellent and the presentation done really well - with the layout and the written information provided. We went on the clock tower tour. The tour guide was extremely helpful and really went out of her way to speak directly to the children and involve them in the tour. She... More

Small museum by international standards and that can be a good thing for families. Exhibits are fun and interesting that will give you insights to Australia. Situated beside the 2 art galleries and Southbank entertainment zone this could fill a whole day.

Very well laid out museum, lots of interesting artefacts and often inter-active displays for kids. Travelling exhibitions are brilliant - a recent one was about gold in Afghanistan and all about The Silk Road trade route - brilliant.

Hi Lesley F, thanks for leaving a review but you are referring to Queensland Museum at South Bank, not us (we're Museum of Brisbane on Level 3 of City Hall). We tell the stories of Brisbane through various exhibitions. We have lots of stories to share, so please pop in next time you're in town. Thanks More
