Description: Museum of Brisbane is located on Level 3 of the newly restored Brisbane...
Museum of Brisbane is located on Level 3 of the newly restored Brisbane City Hall. Our story is Brisbane's story - the lives of those who lived here, the events that have shaped our history and the places that we hold dear. As a museum dedicated to the city, we celebrate the people, places and stories of Brisbane. Museum of Brisbane presents these stories through an innovative mix of social history and visual arts. Every exhibition is an opportunity to discover more about ourselves and our city. Our carefully curated events, workshops and tours are designed to help you delve even deeper. We are a space where stories unfold - a place for meaningful dialogue; enjoyable, entertaining experiences; and a place to explore and share in the identity of Brisbane. While the Museum's story is only 10 years old, we are the narrators of a story far older: Brisbane's story.

So many amazing things to see, the exhibits are detailed and beautiful. There is many, many activities for kids and extra exhibits to visit. Plenty of interactive things to do with the museum also. Entry fee was $18 per adult and we thought it was worth it seeing how much was on display you could have spent a whole day... More

Set out over 3 levels (exhibits) but largely open plan; this made the space quite noisy at times. Quite a bit to look at, but nothing really jumps out at you. Most exhibits don't allow the use of cameras. Not bad for a free activity but wouldn't be on my list of "Brisbane Must-Do's".

Great interactive experience for children. Visited human body exhibits. Other half of party saw Dinosaur animatronics. Quite expensive to enter individual exhibits.

Thanks for leaving us a review trish s. Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood was a great exhibition and an exclusive to Museum of Brisbane. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and the exhibition finished on Sunday 24 May. Great to know you got a chance to see it. We hope to see you again soon. More

Really well laid-out and a good range of exhibits; the Coral Sea space is a great way to learn about the creatures of the area, the Cycling exhibition upstairs was a pleasant surprise, including Cadel Evans' actual bikes! The extinction exhibit on the ground floor was the highlight - learned a lot about the dinosaurs that had inhabited this part... More

Comprehensive history of Brisbane, the River and other exhibitions. Allow a couple of hours for this visit to read all the information although a shorter look is possible. Great interactive models to see.

This was a great spot to check out when we had an hour or so on a rainy day. While it is a fairly small area (one floor of City Hall), there were lots of historic displays to keep one entertained, and the movie following the river was very good. There was also a display on costumes of Hollywood Leading... More

Thanks StanleyandMarie for leaving us a review. The exhibition Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood was fantastic and closed on 24 May 2015. It was a loose link to our city, but one worth sharing. The whole collection in the exhibition came from one man, Nicholas Inglis, a Brisbane lawyer, who has been collecting the garments and memorabilia for... More

What a great place to visit for people interested in nature.... there are so many exhibits to suit everybody. Great collections of bugs, birds, reptiles etc provide hours of entertainment. A great option for a day with likely rain?! Lots to do for kids as well. Well worth the entry into the science centre too.

Located in the city hall, a very impressive building, inside as well as outside. Entry is for free and it gives a nice introduction to the Brisbane history. Interesting to visit, but not too much to see. Watch out for the different exhibitions though, and maybe visit the clocktower (tickets and booking required)
