Description: Museum of Brisbane is located on Level 3 of the newly restored Brisbane...
Museum of Brisbane is located on Level 3 of the newly restored Brisbane City Hall. Our story is Brisbane's story - the lives of those who lived here, the events that have shaped our history and the places that we hold dear. As a museum dedicated to the city, we celebrate the people, places and stories of Brisbane. Museum of Brisbane presents these stories through an innovative mix of social history and visual arts. Every exhibition is an opportunity to discover more about ourselves and our city. Our carefully curated events, workshops and tours are designed to help you delve even deeper. We are a space where stories unfold - a place for meaningful dialogue; enjoyable, entertaining experiences; and a place to explore and share in the identity of Brisbane. While the Museum's story is only 10 years old, we are the narrators of a story far older: Brisbane's story.

My husband and I did the clock tower tour, short and sweet but very good. Currently there is a display of Hollywood costumes, well worth seeing. Both of these are free.

Thank you Rick-YTC for leaving a review, great to hear we could impress a none-Museum-goer. Hope you got a chance to also take a free City Hall tour or Clock Tower Tour, if not, something for your to-do list ;-). More

Small compared to other city Museums however it had a rather interesting Insect section that was really intriguing. Some live ones also.

Thanks for leaving a comment Neridah1, however think you are talking about Queensland Museum at South Bank. We don't have any insects (but agree, Queensland Museum's insects are very interesting). We're on Level 3 of City Hall and tell the unique stories of Brisbane. Please pop in next time you're in town to see what we have on offer. More

2 great exhibitions at the moment. "Golden Age of Hollywood" is fantastic, tastefully displayed, colourful, unique and entertaining. Photos of Brisbane you've never seen before, panoramic view and unique collection of photo negatives. Must see.. do not miss this.

Was nice to just spend an hour or so looking at the exhibition on Brisbane and its river's history. There's also an exhibition on Hollywood costumes and although its a little before our time we still enjoyed it! And best of all, its air conditioned and free!!!!

Thanks for leaving a review hannahberes. The air-conditioning is definitely a wonderful part of the visit, especially on extremely hot Brisbane days! Glad you had a chance to see Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood also, it's exclusive to Museum of Brisbane and finishes in about 2 months. More

The City Hall is one of my favourite buildings in the whole city. The museum itself is fascinating and a great way to discover the history of Brisbane. The clock tower is worth the effort but beware. You must get your free ticket in advance. Also you have to check your bags in on the first floor with a cranky,... More

Thanks for leaving a review Z L. Sorry to hear you didn't have a great bag check-in experience, we'll chat to the team who run the clock room and let them know. Good to hear our team in the Museum could take care of you though and you got a chance to ride the clock tower! More

The museum and exhibitions were fun and informative. Was surprise that there're free tickets (limited) for visitors to visit and take the old yet classic elevator. The 10 mins journey was very memorable. You can have a great and good look of Brisbane from the upper floor by taking this elevator. Kind of having the "time-travel" feeling while I was... More

As far as museums go, this is very small. If you've an hour to spare, there should be enough to learn about Brisbane's history here. We enjoyed seeing the travelling display of old costumes from early Hollywood movies. On arrival ask for a free tour ticket to go on the 10 minute tour to go up inside the oldest elevator... More

Thanks for leaving a review silversandsAdelaide. Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood is a great exhibition, and glad you had a chance to pop in, as it is exclusive to Museum of Brisbane. The wonderful team here developed and created the exhibition using the collection of a single Brisbane resident. We're pretty lucky. More

great family place, prices are ok. Parking is a nightmare and you have to pay which sucks because it is not a small amount either.

Hi Angelina M, thanks for leaving a review, however think you're referring to Queensland Museum at South Bank./ We're Museum of Brisbane on Level 3 of City Hall.
