It is a building that reminds visitors of the colonial past of the city where convicts had made their contribution to the growing city in the old days. It is free to enter the premises.

Great venue with heaps of activity and events, including comedy, music, theatre and food. Check out their program before you visit.

What an awesome venue created from an old unused Power House. We have visited a few times now and are always amazed at what this building now features: two superb restaurants, three theatres catering for all types of entertainment, live bands etc, and all overlooking the Brisbane River. A fantastic way to while away a few hours over a sumptuous... More

The gardens and river are next to the powerhouse and are well worth a visit, with views of the city from the gardens. The jacaranda trees are lovely when in bloom. The powerhouse itself is a lovely building to walk through.

Get a pie from the Goat Pie Guy... Absolutely yummy. There is also a fruit juice stall that does really cool creations - look out for the stall which stacks up slices of fruit on top of your cup, and after you finish eating the fruit, you find the straw revealed.

Brilliant sunshine, a cooling breeze and a totally relaxed atmosphere! Sitting on the deck of the Brisbane Powerhouse overlooking the Brisbane River and enjoying a great light lunch of Bruschetta with a nicely spiced vegetarian topping, and going slightly over the top with an extremely tasty Goat pi!! To round it off my wife enjoyed an excellent Glass of Sparkling... More

The Powerhouse is right on the Brisbane river. You can just get the city cat to Newfarm Park and walk up along the river to it! It's perfect for some Sunday afternoon drinks and light food or if you can catch a show there or comedy act it's great! It's a nice place to meet friends and relax.

At 6pm every Friday is a most welcome addition to "free entertainment". Knock-Off is a testing ground for comedians who are finding their style. Usually there is a headliner at the end of the 3 or 4 comedians performance who has had more experience and confidence. This of course is not a place to come if you are easily offended... More
