A well established botanical garden in a great location at the base of Mt Coot-tha. The gardens offer a wide variety of displays with a great Japanese Garden. There are many areas for picnics including the summit. A well laid out garden with lots to explore and all located near the city centre. There is also the added bonus of... More

I myself (without being offensive) find Brisbane to be a fairly unattractive city, but The Botanic Gardens are certainly stunning and improve my overall opinion of the place significantly. Great little cafe + restaurant as well.

Our overseas flight was put off for 24 hours so we found ourselves stuck in Brisbane for an unexpected day with no plans. We visited the Brisbane Botanic Gardens to 'chill out' after all the hassle from the airline. It was a nice distraction and well worth a visit. I overhead one couple saying "this was one of the best... More

Pleasant gardens to wander in, you can walk out to the river and watch the river traffic and anchored boats. There were quite a lot of birds down by the little lake. Peaceful.

These gardens are easy to get around in a short amount of time, cool and shady on a warm Brisbane day. Parking is convenient and the collection of tropical parts is extensive. The Japanese garden in particular is a great spot to relax or have a picnic.

Small but very compact garden with heaps of interesting plants and trees. The bonsai collection is one of the best that I've seen. The restaurant was also good, nice food and good service. Some cheeky birds hopped around grabbing what they could...added to the atmosphere. The performing bats almost fooled us, till we got close and saw the guitar and... More

I always visit these gardens when in Brisbane, they're beautiful, as other reviewers have said, free entrance to lovely varied gardens, loads of wildlife, the Lookout with great views of Brisbane, lakes, cafe, planetarium, the list goes on and on, . But this year there's the added attraction of a new playground for children which my grand-daughters loved; it was... More

My favourite areas are the Japanese gardens, the Bonsai House and the cactus section. It's a great place to take a picnic or just take a walk. There is a restaurant at the entrance as well.

These gardens have just had a major revamp due to freeway extensions, and they are always a delight. It has such diverse offerings, from Japanese, arid, herbal, etc but it has a lovely Childrens' Art Trail which is fun for all ages. With a lovely restaurant overlooking a lake, it is a very peaceful place.

I love these gardens and go regularly to take guests, get ideas for my own garden and visit different displays in the exhibition hall. I particularly love the bonsai section, the tropical dome and the cactus, succulent garden. It is also a great spot for photography, bird watching and learning about our universe at the planetarium.
