Definitely worth a visit, especially in combination with the Mt.Coot-tha outlook. A good variety of plants, you can easily spend 1.5 - 2 hrs walking the gardens - probably more if you really are into botanics :) . We, family with two teens, did not take enough time, 45 min. were a bit of a rush.

Brisbane is a great walking town. You can cover the center and some of the outskirts in a day. Among the sites to visit are the Botanic Gardens, just 10 minutes from the CBD, and right next to one of the University Campuses. A pleasant walk-through.

Didn't really expect to see too much but was thrilled to show my partner the sites of Brisbane from this vantage point and the view was very good. The bay and islands, the old places I used to visit, the snaking of the river and historical places was for me a splendid experience.

Excellent gardens near Mt Coot-tha. I was able to reserve a spot on a clipboard at the Info counter to ride the free guided tour van which was a hour of a audio tour detailing information about what I was seeing at the Botanic Gardens. There are so many different kinds of trees, and plants there, and has some species... More

We went to this wonderful relaxing spot to try out my new camera and weren't disappointed by the numerous wildlife on display. ..who were not at all camera shy. With amazing pathways to explore through the rainforest setting complete with small waterfalls and a spectacular array of plants and flowers. The terrarium set to a high humidity, is well worth... I wish we had more time as there is a lot to see and enjoy. Many of their collections rival other gardens around the world. Plan for a slow walk to catch everything big and small.

They've expanded the gardens a little bit with a new kid's play area (fine for little kids, don't bother if they're older). Lots of parkland to stroll around, just lovely for the walk. There are all of the usual botanical garden finds such as herb gardens, a Japanese garden, and a few other treats. There is a nice little cafe... More

Lovely oasis, reached by Explorer bus or local bus. Unfortunately it was a bad time of year to go as there were a lot of renovation works happening. It was a very nice hour spent before the next Explorer bus came along.
