We have visited West End many times in the past but this was our first visit in a long time. We took a friend along who had never been there before and we had a great afternoon exploring the shops and numerous interesting cafes, restaurants and the boundary street market. Can't wait to go back. Its a real buzz.

If you know Sydney, West End is Brisbane's equivalent to Newtown. So it's a bit hip and quirky, with lots of local character ...and characters (though probably not as many as in Newtown). And it is well worth an excursion: there is no shortage of cafes, restaurants, bars, record stores, bookshops and lots of other interesting and eclectic retail options... More

Not far from the CBD and the relaxed vibe of west end makes you feel you're miles away. Lots of reasonably priced little shops and some really good eateries. On a weekend there are food markets next to the gunshop cafe and they are not to be missed- Friday nights are really busy but Saturday, I found more enjoyable cos... More

Great little cafe district of brisbane with eclectic shopping, dining and drinking options. Awesome vibe with a mix of new refreshed establishments, contrasted with the industrial culture of decades past. definitely worth a look any day of the week!

Many restaurants offering a variety of international cuisine..Lots of live entertainment to enjoy. . . Suggest, if visiting West End alone , probably best to visit during the day

A great shopping and cafe/bistro district of Brisbane... Does not have a stuffy feel but rather a ethnically rich and relaxed atmosphere with wonderful shopping or culinary experiences around each corner... There are great West End markets to experience and some of the venues provide live music on weekends and some week nights worth a stroll through ...

We liked the buzzing atmosphere, the variety of shops, but everything seemed a bit "tired". Probably it's better at night when you can't see everything as it is. We have had good meals here - at night, which is why we decided to come back for a wander to see if we knew different places from our youth.

If you have time to spend in West End I suggest you take a round trip on Bus Route 198 which leaves from the stop outside Coles. This bus route is incredible as it goes up and down and around all the hills in West End and Highgate Hill. I couldn't believe it when we turned down this very narrow... More

West End is well known for its Cafes, Restaurants, Bars, Markets, Etc.. I have been here a few times over the years and it never disappoints, This time I was here with a few friends for breakfast after a big night out in the city. West End is always busy and within walking distance from SouthBank and Brisbane CBD Best... More
