West end is in my opinion the best little suburb to visit in Brisbane. Its got some of the best restaurants in Brisbane, notably some great greek, asian and indian restaraunts. It has night markets, weekend markets, pubs, bars, gig venues and cafe's. A funky, eclectic little suburb thats walking distance to the CBD, southbank and more.

Its is full of hipsters, but there are all sorts here. Genuine altie, and the bearded ones....and just regular like us Amazing location for a million things to eat and drink , with proximity to all the cultural institutions in the South Bank Go to : Wandering Cooks and snack down on Friday nights on Fish Lane ( corner cordelia)... I love this suburb of Brisbane, and stay there regularly, It is full of quirky shops and brilliant eateries of every persuasion. There are op shops, and high fashion, book shops and food, food, food! A walk along Boundary Street, exploring the little side streets, is always enjoyable Nearby the river walks, and the Saturday markets, offer more delights, along... More

Since selection of cafés , shops and walking distance to Southbank and the city centre. Prices are reasonable. We walked to the playgrounds at Southbank as well as the art gallery and museum.

Hippie Vibes! Foodies will love it here. Vast range of cuisines. (Plenty that are open late 7 nights a week) Plenty of organic and vegetarian options. Endless edgy drink spots - whether you're after coffee or something a little stronger. Keep an eye on The Hifi for some good gigs and be sure to check out the Boundary Street Twilight... More

Probably the most 'ethnic' neighborhood of Brisbane, West End became home to the first waves of immigrants to Australia when the 'White Australia' policy was dropped in the 1960's onwards. Greeks came in large number, followed by Italians, Vietnamese and a host of others. West End became a cultural melting pot and this is still reflected in the eateries.

I love the vibe here, the restaurants are more ethnically varied than other parts of town. Has some great bars esp. Archive beer boutique with its bar made from books & on weekends boundary street market. Could easily live here.

Such an eclectic little place. Craft beer and cocktail bars (the end bar, lychee lounge, bosc) the best breakfast hideaways ( gunship cafe)and amazing restaurants (Lefkas is the best Greek)Just be aware it's easier to public transport in than deal with parking. Unpretentious but a little unruly once the boundary hotel starts spilling out young people late at night filled... More
