My wife and I recently visited relatives in Brisbane to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary . They took us on a trip along the Brisbane River on a City Cat. It was really enjoyable until the strong breeze lifted my new baseball cap off my head , bounced it on top of the boat and landed straight in the river... More

I took a friend, who was new to Brisbane, for a trip up and down the Brisbane River last week. It's a really great way to see many aspects of our beautiful city, and its a bargain in terms of cost. A really impressive aspect of the CityCat Ferrys was the friendly and helpful nature of the staff. They really... More

Do something different, peaceful and interesting. Use a GoCard (easy to purchase for all buses, trains and ferries in Brisbane) - go first to one end, say University of Queensland, return to the centre (Eagle Street Pier), hop off, enjoy a nice lunch in that precinct, then go the opposite direction before returning to the centre again - it is... Just want to let you know about a wonderful way to see and take in the sights of Brisbane---THE CITY CATS!!!! Sit outside and enjoy the QLD sun while taking in all of the beautiful sites of Brisbane and the beautiful homes and sites along the way. Start at one end and go all the way along. You can stop... This is a great way to travel. Avoid peak times if you can as many use the Cats to travel to and from the CBD for work and they can be crowded. Cheaper too, out of peak hours. Go Cards can now be 'topped up' on the Cat itself. Go Cards can be used on buses and trains as well... More

I like the service timetables of the Citycats, they run very regularly and they are pretty massive (I've never had to stand on one). They are pretty expensive though, so you wouldn't want to spend the day riding around on them.

No matter where we travel I love to get out on the water to see a place from another perspective. Brisbane , my home city anyway is very proud of its City Cats ( or water transport really) They come regularly, they go from Hamilton on the east side to St Lucia in the west of the city, with many... Apart from being an important part of Brisbane's public transport system, the City Cats are a great way for tourists to see parts of Brisbane they would not see from land. There's nothing nicer than sitting in the sun on a Brisbane winter's day cruising down the river. Hop off at New Farm, Oxford St or Southbank for coffee and... More

The CityCats are a great way to get around the city. We have used the ferry a few times now, for everything from work function transport to just getting back from the footy. The staff have always been wondefull. If you are going to use it a few times then deffinatley grab a go card as it works out cheaper.

There are across river ferries which only are short trips and "City Cats" which go along the length of the river. I have found that a ferry ride from one end, near the mouth of Brisbane, to the other end, Indoorpilly, which takes about 1hr 15 mins is a great introduction to see a lot of Brisbane for out of...
