For $5.60, the CityCat ferry is a great way to spend a couple of hours in Brisbane and get a few good photo opportunities of the city along the way. While there is no commentary, the ticket sellers on board did suggest things to do at some stops. I went all the way to North Hamilton from South Bank and... More

Although the city cats are a mode of public transport for the many riverside residents it has now become a real tourist attraction. For about $6 you can spend nearly two hours travelling up and down the river viewing the city from the very best vantage point. I love taking my grandchildren for a trip from Hawthorne to New Farm... As mentioned, it is $5.60 per adult for a 2 hour ticket on Brisbane transport, but the CityCat connects many of Brisbane's highlights. We often take visiting families on a CityCat trip as a way of seeing the city - we would go from Hawthorne all the way out to Apollo Road and then to University of Queensland and back... More

After some research - on TripAdvisor - we decided to take a 1 1/2hr (round trip) ferry ride along the Brisbane River. I consider it was value for money - $5.60 per adult for 2hrs. If you stay on the ferry for longer, you must pay more. So we went as far as we could, and saw various mansions, light... More

From a recommendation we took the ferry along the river from Toowong to South Bank. The person selling tickets on the ferry was really helpful. She recommended switching to the Red, free ferry to go under the Story Bridge to Sydney Point. There we swapped back to the City Cat for a beautiful trip back to Toowong. A few hours... More

As newcomers to Brisbane, the river cat ferry was a pleasant surprise. We took a late afternoon ride to the furthest stop and back, the sunset on the river and the city lights made this trip quite memorable

For just 5 Aus$ you can have a 2 and a half hour river cruise of Brisbane on the City Cat Ferry. Jump on at any of the stops in town and head up towards the harbour and return past the city centre and then head down towards the University. Some great views from the river. Sit right upfront for... More
