Just a hill with a view over BNE & surrounding areas nothing spectacular & worth fighting the traffic for!!
Whether you picnic at JC Slaughter falls or Simpson falls, or just grab a coffee while gazing at the view, Mt Cootha lookout is sweet. Go during sunny days, however when it rains go down to the observatory. That's a different review
Favourite among locals and visitors, Mount Coot-tha is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the city and surrounding landscape. The lights at sunrise and sunset are amazing. The restaurant at the submit is quite pricey but the café/snack overlooking this beautiful view is definitely worth it. If you want to challenge yourself, near to the lookout are plenty... More
I've taken international visitors to Mount Coot-tha to show them the layout of the Brisbane City basin by day. Then stayed for a sumptuous meal at the Summit Restaurant as the sun set and Brisbane shows all her true colours. If a snack is preferred then stop by the cafe until late for a nightcap overlooking the city, and don't... More
Fantastic views over the city and Brisbane river all the way to Moreton bay. For even more fun take one of the hiking trails and take a walk up the mountain, have a coffee at the lookout and then walk back down.
If your idea of getting a good feel of the layout, size of an area and an overall impression of a city is get up high and have a look, then Mt Cootha is for you. Make the effort to see the view over Brisbane from the summit. There are numerous walking paths, cycle routes, bus or in the car, so no excuse for not visiting at any time of the day for a fantastic view over Brisbane. Fully recommended.
Great place to visit for fantastic views over the city and out into Moreton Bay and beyond. Enjoy a great coffee and cake from the kiosk or a magical dinner at the Summit restaurant with amazing night time views of the city. A beautiful place to spend time with someone special.
We took our Norwegian visitors up Mount Coot-tha. It was a magnificent day and they were able to put everything into perspective, and really see the lay out of Brisbane. It was our second trip up there and we enjoyed it more than the first as we have now got to know Brisbane a little better
Every time we have a visitor come to Brisbane we take them here and every time they love it! It is a special place and at night it shows off Brisbane in all it's glory. Well worth the time.
