Market was OK but much the same as other similar themed markets. Plenty of food choices. Great location of course!

Loved the ambience, mix of families and dudes, tourists and locals, artisan traders and tidy purveyors, and all a quick hop skip and stumble from the beach and a sunset that doesn't disappoint. Every Thursday and Sunday from 5.00 ish. Last bus to town is too early at7.30, so the 25 minute walk will be needed, but straight forward and... More

Second review for Mindil market. I see now the reason for the market. They are just a social event that coincides with what I still think is a fairly ordinary market. It's simply an excuse for friends to meet and eat reasonably priced food and watch the often spectacular sunset over the sea. If you want to see a bit... More

We visited Mindil Beach markets with our children. It was unbelievably crowded with tourists, families etc. a fantastic atmosphere & the most incredible number of food stands. We had dinner there, watched the sun set into the water, and saw an impressive fire juggler. A great evening!

Great place to spend an evening. Wander the market (usual market fare), but take get time to feast on the widest array of food stalls I have ever seen. Prices are reasonable and it is easy to want it all!!! Watch the sun slip into the sea and then stay back for the entertainment. We had made room for the... More

With the breeze wisping and cooling this was one of the best evenings of our trip to Darwin. A truly relaxing evening.

Well worth a visit especially for the tourists! Sunset markets which run during the dry season are a must for visitors to see. Heaps of arts, crafts and the usual market fare to buy. The food stalls are definitely the best! My husband said the oysters at the oyster bar were probably the best he's had, huge and juicy. The... More

The best thing about Mindil beach are the sunsets. Every night weather permitting the sunsets are awesome. However come market nights during the dry season (Thursday and Sunday) the place can be packed with tourists locals and freeloading backpackers. The markets have become more and more expensive during recent years due to the high rents the market management charges the... More

I liked swimming here and at around 6.30 pm, the great Red Sun as it slides into the ocean. As to the markets, well, I have seen better but they were OK, although I was unimpressed with one table selling unauthenticated aboriginal items
