Well, this review is a little late, as I was here 9 years ago (2005).. But thought I'd still write a review anyway..Although it might have changed since then.. Lovely location, wonderful scenery on the drive to the lake from the CDB.. Lots of lovely big houses and palm trees. You definately feel like your in a tropical place.. The... More

A bit, something or nothing. Lake Alexander its self is nothing special at all. The views from the beaches/ cliffs around the park where Lake Alexander is situated are much more deserving of ones time. Also there were a lot of shoes hanging from the telephone cable so I'm guessing, that's the place to be if your looking for a... More

The play area is great for kids, if your going to BBQ make sure you bring stuff to clean them first, the homeless use the facilities from time time, the council does clean them daily. Lots of shade and the lake is safe.

Love the scenery and feel of the lake and the park surrounds, lovely spot during the day with plenty of spots to relax in the shade.

Right at the coast nearby to Fannie Bay and is located near to shops & public amenities! Only difficulty can be the algal bloom or occasional croc! Be aware and read all the signs!

Went with the family. The actual beach part no use for building sandcastles etc as sand very dirty. The lake fine for adults and confident swimmers but not really for kids. The BBQ area not clean and seemed to be lots of biting insects when we were there. Could probably give this a miss and go instead to either Darwin... More

Lake Alexander is the perfect place to give kids a break from the sight-seeing. It has a great multi-age appropriate playground (also wheel-chair accessible), safe swimming lagoon, outdoor showers to rinse off, shady picnic areas, BBQ facilities, toilets, drinking water bubbler etc. I'll admit that the lagoon bank was a little too muddy for me to want to swim, but... On a warm Darwin day you often feel like stretching out on the grass and enjoying a lazy day, reading a good book, enjoying a great picnic lunch, engaging in interesting conversation with friends. Well, if this fits you then head out towards East Point Reserve, and before you get there you'll find yourself passing Lake Alexander. Placid water, shady... More
