It is part of the Mary River wetlands and is a wildlife experience not to be missed. Corroboree Billabong is Darwin's closest wetland cruise option and you can either drive yourself to the cruise(75 - 90 minutes) or take a half day tour from Darwin. « less

My daughter and I recently went on a Wetland Cruise to Corroboree Billabong. What a great day. Tanya was a terrific guide and the whole experience couldnt have been better. We have both travelled a lot and this was in the top range of experiences. I would recommend this to anyone. It was a real Northern Territory experience but you... More

What a way to spend my 60th Birthday! My daughter and I were picked up by Tanya and given a very friendly reception. It turned out that Tanya was our guide for the day, she was very knowledgable, had a good sense of humour and very professional. We collected people on the way there was about 17 of us in... More

The Wetlands Cruise on Corroboree Billabong is a favourite place for me to take visitors. It never fails to give a very special memorable experience of rich Top End wildlife – guaranteed to see wonderful birds, crocodiles at close range and sometimes other wildlife. The boat glides through the water amongst lotus lilies or, in the main billabong, lined with... More

Hi Heather, thanks for your great review. It`s nice to hear from a Darwin local that our cruises on Corroboree Billabong are your favorite attraction with visitors, it is such a beautiful place. Taking a cruise on the Top End wetlands is an experience that you can`t get anywhere else in Australia and i agree that it is a "must... More

We did a one hour early-ish morning cruise of the billabong with Amy as our guide. We were picked up (by arrangement, at $5 per head) at the Corroboree Park Tavern and driven in to the billabong because our car hire agreement didn't allow for us to travel on unsealed roads. If I didn't know better I would have said... More

Hi Bronwyn, thanks for your fantastic review. The wildlife on the billabong is plentiful throughout the year and most people are amazed at how much they get to see during the cruises. The longer cruises are definitely more enjoyable if you have time available as we get to go to more areas around the billabong and see even more animals.... More

I never ever get tired of this experience.. Baby dingos practice their howles with mum at sunset, the cutest creepy sound EVER!! Moon rises on one side of boat sun sets on the other.. Smell of fresh wetlands, flowers and distant fires is intoxicating. All night baby crocks squeek, birds scream as something takes their life. Nature raw and undisturbed. Morning is stunning,pre... Went on the one hour cruise at corroboree billabong on the way to Kakadu National Park. The cruise was personal, had four people aboard, took us on small waterways as well as the broader billabong. We saw egrets, sea eagles, kites, bee eaters, darters, darters nests with young about to start flying, lotus water lilies and of course crocs. The... More

Thanks for your review. The 1 hour cruises give you a taste of the wetlands but the longer cruises available that you mention, really do give you more time to fully enjoy the experience. There is so much to see on the wetlands and the wildlife experience with the birds and crocodiles is second to none. I am pleased that... More

We have just done the lunchtime cruise of Corroboree Billabong with Wetland Cruises. Great experience! Lots of photo opportunities of crocs and birdlife. Lovely salad lunch served almost as soon as we boarded. The skipper knew where to find the crocs and birds and made our afternoon a truly memorable experience. Thank you so much!!

Hi Annette, thanks for your review. Being on the billabong regularly allows the guides to know where to take the cruises for a good chance of finding the specific wildlife they are looking for, not that anything can be completely guaranteed in nature. The lunches are very healthy and freshly made each day, we regularly get positive feedback about them... More

Both Tanya and Amy were passionate about the trip and clearly loved the birds, crocs and Darwin in general.
