We walked along sections of the Larapinta Trail with a company, World Expeditions, and had the most amazing time. We did some more-or-less regular works before the walk to get ourselves up to a moderate level of fitness and managed to walk the approximately 80kms in six days quite comfortably. The two guides looked after us all the way, telling... More

This has to be one of the top 10 walks in the world. The distances allocated per section can be done in one day, but it's a long day, and not everyone will complete the distance in the time. Summer trekking is very hot and dangerous. Winter trekking is more comfortable but the days are shorter, and nights can be... More

Just a lovely drive it takes about 7 hours all up to go through the MacDonnell Ranges and round the Meninee loop to Kings Canyon and if you have the experience and the vehicle it's worth it. Just beautiful.

We only walked parts of the trail but we found them well marked and very impressive in the scenery department. As long as you had sufficient water, even the hot days which we had were worth while.

The Larapinta is a track that I would walk again. It has everything-challenges, views, swimming and some great campsites.

My partner Jenny and I had a fabulous experience with Trek Larapinta. We took a 6 day Trek package in August 2013. The walking was wonderful every day. The scenery was always spectacular. Our guides Katie and Clare were exceptional. They were always cheerful, were passionate about the McDonnell Ranges, guided effectively and cooked beautifully! The meals were really excellent.... A group of us walked from Hugh Gorge to Standley Chasm. The trip was a fantastic experience with the central Australian landscape being the star of the show. Walking in June the days were perfect and the night sky unbelievable. . We didn't push ourselves, enjoying the bush and varying landscape. I would recommend anyone who can to a least... More

My husband, daughter and I walked the trail end to end in August 2013. We were totally blown away by how awesome the walk was. It took a lot of planning and organising but it was a an experience of a lifetime. We had really hot weather up to 33 degrees which we weren't expecting. Walking in the early morning... More
