I travelled with World Expeditions, so this involves camping and walking with a support vehicle. You definitely need to be fit to start with. The trail is wonderful as it allows one to see the central desert and all its flora and fauna. The countryside is rocky harsh but very colourful. The gorges are spectacular. But my favourite walk is... More

Absolutely spectacular walking and scenery that requires a high level of fitness and agility due to rough, rocky, steep trails.

Wow, this 6 day trek was outstanding - stunning arid scenery, challenging trekking, great guides, food and accommodation in permanent campsites. Paul, Ash and Will from World Expeditions are knowledgable guides with a passion for the environment and trekking. They made sure our Girls Trekking Adventures group had a great time. Not only did they guide us on the trail,... More

Hired bikes and cycled 48 km to Simpsons Gap on the Larapinta trail, fantastic day - cycle track is well marked and photo boards along the way help to describe various landmarks. On reaching the end you need to go out onto the road and cycle 500 metres to the entrance to Simpsons Gap, toilets there and you can then... More

This is one of the best trails close to Alice Springs. You can do small bits of it (1/2 day walks) or weeks of it. The scenery is always changing with the terrain and trail. Some bits are easy while others can be a challenge unless you are fit. Take water, always. Also take a hat, good shoes (preferably light... More

The natural surrounds of the Larapinta are amazing! The service, comfort, generosity and knowledge of the Epicurious tour guides is outstanding. The food is delightful. The guides friendly and charming. Without doubt you need stamina, capability and ability. A few training walks (quite a few) will help you enjoy the hikes a whole heap more. This marvellous tour is a... More

The Larapinta Trail is an experience not to be missed. Central Australia in all its finery, with stunning arid landscapes, fantastic geology, flora and fauna. The 9 day trek with Trek Larapinta took my wife and I to this stunning area of the West McDonnell ranges and took us to some of the very special spots along the way. With... More

Top notch trek. If you are looking for a small and intimate group, with a lot of experience, this is it. Go for the Super Six - six hardest and most rewarding segments of the trail that you can complete in a week. Would definitely recommend and go again - Mahalo!

Aloha Dr Chap, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent Super 6 Day Trek Larapinta experience. As you noted the Super 6 day takes in the all the hardest, most remote and challenging sections of the Larapinta, however with all the hard work comes the incredible rewards! I will make sure to pass on your compliments to... More

Started on June 18 2015 for 16 days adventure in a supported group of 7. It was first class every step of the way and I cannot commend it highly enough. Jacob and Andrew our guides were outstanding. Knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to enhance the experience. Amazing food. Even woken on the two early morning starts by Jacob playing... More

Hello Brian, Thank you for such a positive review of your 16 day End to End, Trek Larapinta experience. I agree that most of our politicians would benefit from spending some time having a walk in the bush, disconnecting from their spin and tuning into the soul of this ancient, amazing country. Perhaps the speaker can get a helicopter to... More
