We pre booked this experience well in advance as the tours only take place Wednesday's, Thursday's & Friday's. We were picked up direct from our Alice Springs Hotel. We were greeted warmly by Brolga, and Jessie the Joey at the front door of his shack. Our group was only 7 people which I believe is quite typical, which gave everyone... More

"Brolga" was a charming and knowledge host and actually encouraged us to take video and photographs.

This is a must-do for animal lovers. It isn't a typical tourist attraction - there are no toilets or other facilities just the most amazing animals being taken care of by the most amazing man. It was only a small group which is intentional and that gave us all the chance to hold a joey for some time. Brolga is... More

This is a great experience if you're staying or stopping over in Alice Springs - well worth every penny. A talk from Brolga, a sunset walk around the outback, the chance to see kangaroos up close and personal and the best bit - the chance to hold a joey - don't miss this chance to experience something special. There are so many factors that combine to make this a perfect experience however, what truly stood out was the way that Brolga and Danny related to the visiting group (6 of us - groups kept deliberately small) and to the Aboriginal ladies that through, gentle interaction, share their culture. Then of course there are the kangaroos, the joeys (with... More

What a fabulous time both me and my husband had at the kangaroo sanctuary. Arrived a bit early and was welcomed by Brolga. The tour was extremely interesting and we both learnt so much. I couldn't believe how hands on the tour was, holding the baby roos was amazing. Is is a must while in Alice!!

We visited the Kangaroo Sanctuary when Brolga was away, but even though we wanted to see him as well, we were not disappointed for long. The rest of the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with answering questions not only about Kangaroos but also about Aboriginal culture. We spent time walking around the property seeing how the Kangaroos spend their... More

Before my husband and I visited the Sanctuary in November 2013, I had only vaguely heard about the place. I had not seen the BBC program about the owner, Brogla, but I had heard that it was something not to be missed in Alice Springs. Despite the silly moniker of "Kangaroo Dundee" which he has been given by others, Brolga... More

In August 2013 I went on holiday with my girlfriend Rach and her family on a trip to Australia. We travelled around the country, starting in Perth before going on to Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Cairnes, Sydney and Melbourne before travelling home via Singapore. We were there for 3 weeks but one evening out stood out way above the rest... More

I just returned from spending two hours being totally captivated and educated about kangaroos from Brolga, an Aussie with a heart as large as his 6'7" frame. With limited hours and only small groups able to visit the sanctuary, this is definitely a must see destination when visiting Alice. I came away with a greater understanding of these beautiful and...
