This was a wonderful tour run by some very special people- I thoroughly enjoyed the one hour camel ride which also turned out to be a really unique way of exploring the outback! Our guide walked the entire hour guiding the camels (which was amazing!), and the camels were so obedient- I also really enjoyed being able to ask questions... More

We did the sunset tour - it was amazing. We decided to get picked up from the hotel and to be honest glad we did. The trek was an hour and the views were simply beautiful. Only advice if you hate flys take a fly net

Took this camel ride at sunset on Nov21. Absolutely enjoyed it! Our guide James was quite knowledgable, great sense of humour, and made us feel very much at ease when faced with these massive animals. Really appreciated, too, that James took some photos for us on our cameras/phones. Often tours provide "professional" photographers that cost a fortune and one ends up... More

Was an additional "tour" from The Ghan in Alice Springs. Was only $40 and it was fabulous. The young, qualified camileer, Malcom was as one with his camels. He was caring of his tourists and of his camels. Had a great yarn with Marcus, the owner after. Champagne and substantial nibbles. Highly recommended, but you do need good hips and... More

Although the two-sided colour brochure bills this as a family-owned operation, there's not much visible family involvement. If you want to know about the history of an (estimated) 300- to 600 000 camels living in the wilds of Australia, read up on Wikipedia, or get to the Pyndan location a half hour early: there are readable descriptions and wall-photos of... Thank you James for a fabulous activity of meeting the camels, riding them and then hearing the history of them. Ruby was particularly naughty by dragging my friend and I through the bush but we survived. The scenery at sunset was amazing. Great work.

This was another excursion off the Ghan. So pleased we chose this one. What a great experience. James & Malcolm do a great job & it is obvious they enjoy what they do. We went in the morning. It was a very hot day but after our ride James was waiting for us with cool refreshing towels along with champagne,... More

Had a camel trek as part of The Ghan trip. Picked up and dropped off in aircon bus. James and Malcolm were our perfect hosts. Camels were well kept and no spitting or grumpiness, as is usually expected!! Headed off on an hour's trek of desert and grasses and were welcomed back with a lavender infused cold towel. Nice touch.... More

Fantastic that you enjoyed your camel tour and bush tucker canapes as part of the off train excursion from The Ghan. We are proud to offer this service to The Ghan and work hard to make the experience pleasant, memorable and relaxing. Thanks. More

I had a very docile camel called Anna who thankfully behaved herself. We went on the 9 a.m ride and although it was definitely fun on the camel I found the trip somewhat boring. Our camels walked into a local Station for 1/2 hour which was not particularly scenic and then walked back again. I think doing the sunset ride... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I will pass on your comments to Anna the camel! Sorry the wildlife were hiding-- kangaroos, large lizards or swooping birds of prey. More

We are Alice Springs locals who took my visiting 85-year-old parents on a one hour sunset camel ride, along with our 7 year old daughter and her 6 year old friend. It was a perfect activity for our combined age group and was the highlight of my parents visit to Alice. Our daughter described it as 'super-duper and can we... More
