This is a wonderful venue, from opera, pop, theatre to comedy, I've seen so many event here. Beautiful architecture, nice restaurant, if fine dining is your bent. But a more affordable bistro and cafe are available. You can also take a tour of this facility, learn all about the history of this great building. Right on Sydney harbour, sandwiched between... You must visit this place if you are in Sydney. Its a very famous landmark. There's a lot to do if you are in this area, you will enjoy the view of the Harbour Bridge, can walk to the Sydney Old Town, The Rocks or catch the Ferry Boat to go to other side of Sydney, like Manly, go to... More

OK, so you need to check what's on and book online as much in advance as you can in order to get best price seats as possible, but it is worth it. Opera Australia's production of Verdi's 'Aida' was a spectacle of magnificence for the senses. The Orchestra played beautifully, the singers and chorus sang with passion, and the clever... More

Do not miss at the botanic gardens (Stage constructed on the water). This is really special. This type of stage/performance cannot be staged inside.

We booked this on line about 2 months in advance while still in the UK. We didn't choose the most expensive seats but the next price level down, and the seats were perfectly fine. It was really easy to pick up the tickets when we arrived. The production was very good.

How can you visit without taking in the Opera? The opera house is known around the world. Shows are cheap, although cheaper seats can be found. The shows are always high quality. Take the opera house tour as well.

OA is consistently good in a fairly small hall. Avoid loge seats (cheapest seats available on day of performance) unless you can get a point seat which are the only ones where you can see most of the stage.

Prior to traveling to Australia, we signed up for Groupon Australia and purchased tickets for Opera Australia. This is a fine show, which featured about 4 performers, who sang songs from different operas and American musical theatre. It was appropriately timed, as sometimes I have difficulty sitting through full operas and I would recommend it for adults, perhaps more than... More

Crawl all over it, walk around it, stroll through it, attend a performance at it, glide past it on a ferry - a spiritual feeling. And I'm an atheist! Go figure, the Australians have with this structure. What a thing to do with a tram yard.

We were keen not only to view the opera house but experience it from the inside. We're not classical or opera buffs but we found a performance called a Baroque evening by the SSO to see. Wow. We were blown away by the whole experience - sat inside that iconic building listening to some beautiful music. Fantastic
