We visited this place in Feb, 2015 during lunch hours and found it to be extremely calm and peaceful. The administration has tried its best to maintain the historical look of this oldest pub/bar in Sydney. With nice wind blowing, one can sit outside and enjoy his beer soaking in the vintage look of the place. The staff is nice,... More

A short walk from the rocks we were in the area so thought let's call in and have some lunch. Beautiful old pub with microbrewery at back brasserie upstairs but we choose a bar meal with 2 beers on tap. The spaghettini crab and chilli was Devine but my Caesar salad with cold poached quail eggs was a little underdressed... More

Enjoyed hunkering down here after our walk around the markets at the Rocks on a Saturday showing around our international friend. Great house made ales and the cold pork pies with hot English mustard and chutney were amazing, best I've had in a long time. Lunch itself was good pub fare, not outstanding though and you may be subjected to... More

Located in the historic Rocks area of Sydney, this is the oldest hotel - est. 1841; and now (for some 25 years) also a very nice pub & brewery serving excellent micro / local brews. Has warm feel of venerable English / Aussie tavern, stone, wood, bit nautical theme – great feel. Stopped in for lunch, enjoyed the Three Sheets... More

Visited this pub for the first time in March 2015. Service was quick and all of the meals served to our group were excellent. Will worth a visit.

The was a very nice pub to stop in for a beer during our walk on the Millers Point area. Said to be the oldest pub in Sydney. I can't say for certain, but it does have a quaint look and feel and the beer was very nice (Quayle's Ale).

Spending the day walking around Sydney. Was recommended this place by teacher colleagues in China where we work. They know pubs! And this one is an oasis of calm where 2 half pints of victory went down smoothly. Got to be a must visit place for the beer tasters amongst us. Recommended.

I have been visiting this old establishment for many years and slowly watched its qualities wither. My latest excursion to this once fine pub is my last. My wife and I waited patiently at the bar whilst two disinterested bar gals avoided us. Finally a young man with 'attitude' served us. My wife asked for a taste of one of... More

Nice environment, most of the staff were friendly. Awesome beer if you like anything from porter to ale. All freshly brewed and easy too ser why so many people rate it highly. walked here from circular quay, short maybe 12 min walk once figured out correct path. getting under the bridge was the trick. If you are going to head... More

Had been told this was a must visit when in Sydney. Was not disappointed, great ales and good food. Terrific atmosphere, if you get a table your set for the night. Only a few minutes walk from circle quay. Will certainly be calling again on next visit to Sydney.
