Situated near Observatory Hill and the Rocks this pub makes a great start to a scenic pub crawl through the better part of Sydney. It's a beautiful sandstone building, lively crowd and tasty beer on tap. Try the Three Sheets pale ale with the bread plate.

Large busy pub, serving their excellent ales, brewed on the premises. The bar food menu is excellent and of excellent value. The staff very friendly. A must if you stay in Sydney and enjoy good beer.

We came here as it was recommended through one of the local pub tours. The beer was probably the best options we found while in Australia. It was a bit busy, and it took some time for us to get a table, but once we were situated, all was great. Our party wanted to come back for more.

Visted The Lord Nelson numerous times while we were in Sydney. Each time the atmospshere was brilliant - both during the day and on a weekend night. Loved their own beers, Three Sheets was a definite favourite with us. Never got to try the pies but they looked great. This was defintely one of the best pubs we found in... More

The Lord Nelson is another "must visit" for us when we return to Sydney. I love the choice of excellent beers and ales and porters brewed on the premises. The wine range is typically good too and mainly Aussie, I think. And their pies are very tasty indeed served traditionally with mushy peas, mashed potatoes and gravy, a "pie floater"... More

Often brew pubs are characterised by mediocre service - but NOT the Lord Nelson. Not only is the beer wonderful (I liked Trafalgar, others went for Quayle and the boys argued over the porter v The Old Admiral), but service was quick, friendly and knowledegable. The bar food was pretty good too!

The food is ok but the beer are wonderful. The brewmaster works at the tank when you drink. I tasted the Australian Pale Ale and the Blood of Nelson. The style of the pub is eccellent
