Had never heard this orchestra before, but wanted to see the Concert Hall. Very easy to book tickets on the Internet & it doesn't matter where you sit as the sightlines are excellent. They were extremely good with a great programme (usually Friday & Monday evenings & Saturday afternoon. Only gave it 4 stars as we were put off by... More

Went to see the Sydney Symphony take on Sci-Fi Classics- from the big movie numbers to the new Doctor Who theme, was a truly excellent experience in the surroundings of the Opera House. Conductor was good humoured and kept things flying along, hardly felt like we were there for 10 minutes, but 2 full hours of music had passed by.... More

We were lucky to get 2 very good seats for the "Symphonic Insperation" conducted by David Robertson. Very enjoyable music, great ambiance, a once in your lifetime must to visit a concert at Sydney Opera House. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

Karen, the ticketing receptionist, was incredibly rude and downright hostile to deal with. She refused to help us and claimed she couldn't do anything about changing tickets (which we ordered for the 20th, but received confirmation for the 19th September instead) and blamed us for the technical error. However, upon calling the very helpful Admin team, we found out from... More

We went to see "The Sydney Symphony" the performance was combined with the screening of "Gladiator" the movie staring Russell Crowe. The movie was screening while the Symphony played the score. WOW absolutely beautiful, emotional , incredible. Do yourself a favour and get to see an event like this. They have been doing this for 4 years now. The previous... More

Just rated as the best orchestra in Australia. I have been listening for many years and have watched the standard steadily improve. At their best they are very good indeed.

I took my kids to the matinee performance of Pixar in Concert at the Concert Hall Sydney Opera House. It was a very emotional and wonderful experience. I'd go again in a heartbeat. We sat in a Platform Box D overlooking the Orchestra. The kids could see each of the musicians playing which was ideal, although it might have been... More

Until my health gave way, I was a regular subscriber to their concerts. It is, by any standard, a world-class ensemble, with great conductors, inspired programming, and an unbeatable concert hall location. It is one of life's great pleasures to be enthralled by their musicianship.
