An excellent place to see the fireworks

A wonderful view of the harbour from the north side. Nice for a picnic, lunch at one of the establishments.

Sydney has so many wonderful spots like this to see the views of the city, Opera House and Harbour Bridge. It is one point further around than Milsons Point and Kirribilli and as such misses the in-your-face shot but it is still stunning. The high rise buildings take a little of the gloss away.

Right beside Luna park, this view has the harbour bridge, Sydney opera house and skyline to left and right. The perfect spot for a picnic on a sunny day!

This is a great little park with an iconic view of the Sydney Opera House seen under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, flanked by the Sydney city and North Sydney skylines. Awesome at any time - my favorite is sunrise, but weekends are good with the harbour alive with ships, cruiseliners, ferries, boats and the night view is worth a look... More

The combined view of Harbour Bridge and Opera House snuggled beneath it is breathtaking from this vantage point. You have to have a personal vehicle to reach this un-crowded place. There is a short track along the coast where you can stroll and view CBD from entirely different angles. A small park provides for a leisurely watching a train crossing... More

A lovely small area with an interesting view back across the harbour to the bridge and Opera House. Play ground equipment for the children. We walked down from North Sydney station (about 20 minutes downhill) but there seemed to be lots of parking there as well.

Blues Point Reserve may not be as overhyped or publicised as it deserves to be, but don't underestimate it, its a must see, best kept local secret and most certainly the best vantage point for magical, surreal, spectacular Harbour Bridge & Opera House views. It is very easily accesible, has free parking, is close to a ferry stop, has grassy... More

from here, the views of the harbour bridge and the opera house is very nice. In fact, the view of the Opera house is very nice from every angle! ferry from circular quay, 2 stops.

Was recommended by a Local Sydney friend as the best place to view the Harbour bridge and Opera house and also best place for viewing the Fireworks on NYE. He was right ... it is the best! Interesting place at night with so many cars driving in just to sit and take in the view.

And was absolutely wowed away! Felt surreal with a view you felt you could reach out and touch, a glorious sunny day, views galore, didnt know where to look first, as so much to sit and absorb.
