It was heavily raining the day of the screening. I had already perchased the tickets and really wanted to go to the open air cinema. But as they didn't cancel the screening I didn't want to repurchase a ticket for another day. I had sailing wet weather gear on to stay dry with a plastic poncho they provided, but it... More

What a splendid evening spent. A beautiful sunset, a lit up Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge in its shadows and a cruise ship starting its journey all in front of us. What a spectacular way to spend a balmy Sydney evening, complimented by delicious food and wine and a movie to finish the night. So Sydney, no wonder it... More

So bummed we just found out about this cinema a month before we are to move back to the United States. My husband and I went to see "Wild" for a date night. We were impressed with how classy and well done the outdoor cinema was done. We highly recommend seeing a movie here in the summer. You are able... More

This is the best open air cinema experience you can have. The back drop of the Opera House and the great moment the screen rises from the water ... this must be done at least once in your life time. It is best if you can line up early so you get to choose a good seat for the movie... More

What an experience. What a venue. The movie is somewhat incidental. Although we enjoyed ours. The setting is wonderful. An unusual view of the Opera House back dropped with the Sydney Harbour Bridge, on your right, with the City scape of tall buildings on e left, that become colourful and light filled as darkness descends and then the clear star... What a great night! Fantastic to watch a movie under the stars with the the backdrop of Sydney Harbour. Good food & drink options, great atmosphere, well organised. Unforutunately the website is extremely un informative for first timers! Will be back next year!

The Open Air Cinema at Mrs Macquarie's Point arguably has the best view of any cinema. There's a number of food options, and a bar, therefore it's good to get there when it opens and you can enjoy the sunset prior to the film commencing. Tip - tickets are usually released just before Christmas. If you keep an eye on... More

Book ahead if you can and plan a fantastic night out at the Open Air Cinema. Bring a picnic and eat it in the botanical garden before hand. Enjoy a drink, food or an after dinner sweet at the bar or restaurant. Best view of Sydney and an excellent way to enjoy the sunset before watching your film!

Loved the whole experience from the easy booking online to the food and drink. Loads of comfy bean bags to rent (maybe should rent blankets aswel) good screen and sound quality. A must for a night in Sydney.

We have been attending this venue for several years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and overall experience. The catering as well, has always provided reasonably priced and tasty food. But not so last night! As an example, the menu's "Korean" chicken dish with pickled vegetable and rice salad was in reality a dry offering of plain chicken sitting on... More
