The Open Air Cinema at Mrs Macquarie's Point arguably has the best view of any cinema. There's a number of food options, and a bar, therefore it's good to get there when it opens and you can enjoy the sunset prior to the film commencing. Tip - tickets are usually released just before Christmas. If you keep an eye on... More

Book ahead if you can and plan a fantastic night out at the Open Air Cinema. Bring a picnic and eat it in the botanical garden before hand. Enjoy a drink, food or an after dinner sweet at the bar or restaurant. Best view of Sydney and an excellent way to enjoy the sunset before watching your film!

Loved the whole experience from the easy booking online to the food and drink. Loads of comfy bean bags to rent (maybe should rent blankets aswel) good screen and sound quality. A must for a night in Sydney.

We have been attending this venue for several years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and overall experience. The catering as well, has always provided reasonably priced and tasty food. But not so last night! As an example, the menu's "Korean" chicken dish with pickled vegetable and rice salad was in reality a dry offering of plain chicken sitting on... More

A great iconic event. Fantastic to watch a movie under the stars with the lights of Sydney and the Harbour Bridge in the background.

After years of enjoying this iconic Sydney experience several time each Summer - the whole package location, atmosphere, wine & Food - we were very disappointed that the new caterer offers very ordinary fare (at the same prices) and lets the whole evening down! Belinda Franks did a great job of feeding the hordes with food they could enjoy and... More

Got tired of trying to get tickets on the opening day. It got progressively worse trying to get the best films and the only films were the films that are average. Fabulous view and magnificent setting but too stressful to book decent tickets. Will instead pack a nice pique nique and enjoy this beautiful part of Sydney without a movie.

The open air cinema is good but I think the moonlight cinema at centennial park is better. Much more relaxed, family atmosphere. There are many outdoor cinemas around to choose from and they are all pretty good, this one is OK but not the best in my opinion

This is the most beautiful cinema in the world and a "must do once in your life time". The setting is almost unbelievable, as the screen is set opposite the Sydney Opera House. So you will be sitting looking at the screen as the sun comes down. The selction of the movies is brilliant too and there is a good... More
