Once you've seen the organ rise through the floor and heard a fabulous old-style recital on it before a movie, you're unlikely to forget your visit to the Orpheum. Thanks to Mr Hayden (a media identity of the later decades of the 20th century) for his role in saving this Art Deco era gem.

We live locally and only ever go to the orpheum to watch movies. The individual cinemas are a treat in themselves- individual design features and extremely comfortable. The whole complex is spectacularly clean, unlike the large cinéma complexes. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, with prices similar to other cinemas. The only challenges can be parking, and I would also... More

A good selection of films to suit all tastes. Comfortable seats. Some smaller more intiment theatres. Regular events and Art Deco showings. Relaxing atmosphere unlike large, noisy cinema complexes.

As a local living not far away I often go here. They have all the latest films and it is a very pleasant place to visit. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to eat before or after. It is only a short bus ride from the city, crossing the Harbour Bridge if you are coming from the... More

The best cinema complex in Sydney. Hollywood blockbusters and art house features all in the same beautiful art deco venue. Special events feature classic films, opera and theatre productions on film and even live music performances and talks by authors and film people.

Visiting the Orpheum gives two experiences for the price of one - the décor of the cinema is just wonderful and the movies which they show are ones which sometimes are not on general release. In addition they have special events such as Metropolitan Opera and NT plays. It is really easy to find by public transport, as it is... More

So enjoyable here - love the old historic art-deco theatre and the movies here in any week are the best are in current release - can never fail to find a movie worth watching.

I have to cross the bridge to get to this cinema. So it's not very often that I get to go. What's not to love about its old world feel. I love those seats. Modern cinemas just don't give you that feel. If your a tourist and want to see a film check it out. It's worth it. Public transport... More
