This is a lovely little beach around the corner from the main Manly beach (just follow the coast path from Manly round to the right). The beach is sheltered from the winds you often get on Manly and the rocky shores make it great for snorkelling and swimming. There was no café when we visited (Nov '14), it looked like... More

From manly take the walk to Shelly Beach, an easy walk for both able bodied and those less so. Look out for the Water Dragon's, lovely little sea lizards and the works of art along the route. The beach itself is lovely and the water area has been preserved by allowing no fishing so the snorkelling and diving are excellent.... More

You will find this tiny little beach at the end of the Manly Scenic Walk. Nice place to rest and swim - on your way to Shelly Beach try to find some the rare water dragons!

Unsure what the hype is about this beach??? We walked from Manly and enjoyed the walk but when we got to Shelly Beach there was nothing there? A building that may have been a cafe was possibly being demolished. The grass & BBQ area was closed off and the beach itself was sharp sand, dirty with remains of bbq's. All... More

We took a ferry to check out Manly Beach and everyone told us to take the walk to Shelly Beach, so that's what we did and I am so glad we did. It's sort of off the beaten path, if you will, so it's not so crowded. It's really a lovely beach and the water is nice and calm (although... More

I'm in love with the whole Manly quarter that includes Shelly Beach as well!. I love the small walk from Manly beach to Shelly beach. I love the yellow sand there, the shallow waters, the genuine tree shades... I love that it's small, way smaller in comparison to Manly and feels more cozy! You should definitely go there for a... in my opinion the best coastal walk in sydney with a buggy. wide and paved all the way from manly to shelly, there are cafes along the way. great place for an evening sunset bbq. there are four bbqs at the back of the beach, all free of charge, but it can get pretty busy at times. there is parking... If you can manage to get here on the weekdays, when the crowds are not there - this is one of the best beaches in Sydney. This protected cove allows for the peace-seeker to relax on the sand and waveless ocean. But the headland also packs a punch in that the surfbreak here can be the place to come when... More

As I grew up in Manly I am very familiar with the walk to Shelly Beach but it is unwise to go early in the morning. This is such a lovely time of day but there are throngs of people doing this walk with battalions of young mums with those big baby pushers. It is much more enjoyable in the... More
