Great spot for watching the world go by

Nice spot away from the crowds on the main drag of Manly. Looks great for snorkelling too-I was there in July so didn't brave the water that day.

The beach does have a lot of sea shells so it is hard on the feet as you go into the water. But once in the underwater world is magical. There are bathroom, changing and food facilities. It is a u-shaped beach, with trails along the top of the cliff.

Took the ferry to Manly Beach, but wanted to snorkel, so we walked up the boardwalk to Shelly Beach. Nice and secluded with no waves like at Manly. Water was warm, but the snorkeling was average at best. Nice place to go for a swim though as most of the people at Manly were surfing and swimming areas were limited.

Huge BBQ's set up on the beach for a great family style feast. The water is also filled with coral right off the shore so bring your snorkel!

Shelly beach is a little beach well hidden on the side of Manly beach. A nice walk along the cliff, you can see water dragons on the way to Shelly beach. On a beautiful sunny day, the water looks so inviting, and at low tide the snorkeling is really extraordinary, blue groppers, pipe fish, coloured fish...don't forget your snorkel kit... More

We hired bikes from Bonza bikes Rocks, Sydney and took them out on the ferry to Manley and found this beach at the end of the headland along a great cycle way/ promenade path. Gorgeous beach, gorgeous walk/ cycle to get there

Walk along here after taking the ferry to Manly. Beautiful scenery with places to stop off and rest and to have a coffee. The beach has a great view back to Manly.

If you'd like to get away from the waves a bit, visit Shelly Beach near Manly. It's a hidden gem. Less crowded than Manly beach itself and it's a nice walk around the cove to get there. The sand is a little rough on your feet so think about wearing sand shoes. It is really shelly...

This is the most famous family friendly beach with the locals, a touch of paradise. Walk around from Manly and enjoy the view on the way.
