'Twas indeed a short holiday but my family enjoyed exploring around Central Coast. The weather was nice to frolick in the beach and enjoy a well deserved break. We totally loved our picnic by the beach. My eldest fell in love with the views and had so many photos taken on her own camera. While my youngest asked if we... More

We stayed at a friends house over looking the beach last time. It was just a short walk down to the sand, one of the best stretches of beach north of Wollongong. There is one little restaurant, not too many poseurs and a nice little park for the tiny tots with lots of trees for shade. Now, if only they... More

It is truly beach season in Sydney during the first week of the new year. We initially wanted to drive up to Palm Beach but due to the large crowd and no parking to be found, we turned south to beautiful Whale Beach. Although still more crowded than usual we still managed to find a parking spot after a short... More

The site of the filiming of Home and Away, this is a nice beach in the Pittwater district. The swells/rips can be severe here, so it is not a great bathing beach. It's a nice place to cool off if you have been bushwalking further north.

This beach is so perfect I can't believe it's not more crowded. It has a playground and a restaurant as well as outdoor showers. It really is beautiful.

Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Not as busy as a lot of the other beaches. It's a good day trip from the city, to get away from it all.

Hidden away south of Palm Beach the approach to Whale Beach from either direction is spectacular. It has a holiday feel about no matter what time of the year you visit. It is probably one of the least crowded of the northern beaches
