Manly is a beautiful place, and the beach is fabulous! I think it's one of the best beaches in Sydney, I liked it better than Bondi! :)

Takes 2 hours, get public bus to Spit bridge, it's not hard, the bus drivers are friendly, and take a walk along the coast, seeing pretty bays, ending at bustiling manly, and catch ferry back to Circular Quay. Not suitable for people in wheelchair, with mobility aids beyond a walking stick, or at falls risk.

Take the bus to Spit Bridge to the start of this walk. Over about 7 kilometres it follows the shoreline and climbs up to the imposing heights of Dobroyd Head before descending ( 300 steps!) to a gentle harbour side approach into Manly. (Don't forget to see the Aboriginal rock art on the way). Do it this way as the... More

we walked from Spit to Manly which was a lovely walk with loads of great scenery, wildlife and views across the water. Finishing in Manly and getting ferry back just topped off the experience.

Starting from Manly wharf you can walk along to the Aquarium, follow the path around to a set of stairs and at the top turn to the left. This path takes you along the foreshore of North harbor. Walking along you'll see sailing boats, joggers on the path, walkers with their dogs, further along you'll arrive at Fairlight pool. Great... More

Step along the walkway towards Shelley beach and consider making a stop at the little restaurant a few hundred metres prior to it. They offer excellent service, great local beer and tasty morsels from the grill! A lovely place to people-watch!

After arriving at the beach via the ferry from Circular Quay, we started walking down the boardwalk and followed the signs for the scenic walk. The walk was beautiful! It went up the hills and back down. Sometimes the walkway would become stone steps, sometimes gravel, and then back to wood or pavement. The scenery was wonderful, and we also... More

Like most coastal walkways there is very little to complain about! How can you dislike anything with stunning views and good company.
