A fabulous day out in Sydney! Came here for my son's 5th birthday. He absolutely loved it. So did we! A great aquarium. Plenty to see. We booked our tickets online which I would highly recommend doing. It made our entry into the aquarium quick and easy. Great little starfish pool towards the end of the aquarium where you can... Smaller than the one in Singapore. If you got a multiple-attraction pass, then it may worth to have a look.

Stood in a queue for an hour and a half in the rain while the people who booked online stood in a fast pace queue in the dry. When actually getting in, there was no toilets which was annoying after a long wait to get in. Toilets were only at the end of the walk. Seeing all the species of... More

It was fun the see that big blue fish you see on the poster for Great Barrier Reef. Great display of Rays and sharks in overhead swim-overs.

We took a friend who was visiting from Mexico and we spent about two hours wandering about. The part he enjoyed the most was the sharks swimming over our heads. There was plenty to see. We also saw the crocodile, I think he's called Elvis, sitting half in and half out the water. He is gigantic. It was great because... More

We spent about three hours at the Sea Life Aquarium, and despite the big crowds (being school holiday time), it was a wonderful day. We were most impressed with the range of sea creatures on display. The glass water archway was particularly memorable, as we could watch the sharks and stingrays move above us so closely. I remember being blown... More

Even in the busy season, there is so much to see that the kids never get bored, and can watch spell bound as the majestic sea life and creatures float by. It can keep you busy and is a great stress buster. Highly recommended if you are wanting to relax and have kids that take interest in nature.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
