My husband and I attended the11am performance of a play at the Ensemble Theatre today. I'd intended to book the evening show but clicked the wrong time and it was too late to change by the time I realised. Well, what a fortunate mistake! From the street it looks like any little theatre anywhere. But move through to the foyer... More

Great visit to this cracking wee theatre, tucked away in Kirribilli beside the local yacht club, warmest welcome ever to a theatre and great wee bar overlooking the bay for pre-theatre drinks. Ayckbourn play gave us a slice of 70's life Ozzie style in the most intimate of settings - theatre in the round? We were on stage in the... More

The Ensemble is a charming theatre in Kirribilli. Not so easy to find car parking in the vicinity but it is a short walk from Milson's Point train station and if one has plenty of spare time then a ferry trip from Circular Quay plus a longer walk is a delightful way to visit The Ensemble. One of the great... More

I treat myself to a long weekend at Kirribilli every year , and one of the reasons is an annual visit to the Ensemble Theatre. Small and tucked away in Kirribilli , the program is creative and entertaining and the casting always first rate. Have dinner beforehand in Kirribilli village and enjoy a glass of wine at the Theatre before... More

Our first initiation to the Ensemble Theatre was some years ago when we went to see those old Mavis Bramston stars Noelene Brown and Barry Creighton re-united in a show in which they acted in a few short plays. We were hooked and took out an annual subscription of 5 or 6 Plays each year. Our daughter part funds the... More

Where can I start? It's an institution with the best views of any theatre (better than the STC!). Consistently entertaining, sometimes but not always, risky shows but basically just pure theatrical entertainment. I've been coming here for years and love this place. The people are also the best part, friendly and happy, and the restaurant is the best place for... More

This smallish waterfront theatre is situated in the inner-north suburb of Kirribilli and has been operating with success for a number of decades. Allow time to find the theatre if you have not been there before. You can walk downhill to it from Milsons Point railway station, taking a few turns through narrow old streets. If driving allow time for... More

Great choice of plays, lots of David Williamson's new and old. Wonderful Australian actors and that wonderful intimate ensemble stage where we all feel a part of the story! Reasonable ticket prices, lovely setting and restaurant, and great helpful staff. Feel like on the family - been going since Hayes Gordon days! Love anything Sandra Bates puts together!

Brilliant show. Lots of humour and even though this was a preview show, and there was one small missed line the actor with aplomb and good humour got on with the show. Excellent play. Lovely staff
