This annual beachside event in Sydney in October/November is mirrored on Australia's west coast at Cottesloe in March and also in the Danish city of Aarhus. We've been to the events in both Sydney and Cottesloe multiple times and always find something exciting. The cliff side walk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama makes the Sydney version special. It is simply... More

If you are in Sydney Oct-Nov, this is a must on the 'to do' list. The sculptures are incredible. You walk along the esplanade beside the beautiful sea as you view the numerous artworks. It is an awesome and totally unique experience! With each bend in the path there are more sculptures to discover. The sculptures are on the rocks,... More

The walk between Tamarama and Bondi beaches is great any time of year, but really nice to go when they have Sculpture by the Sea. We go every year, and it's interesting to see what the artists produce. The only think i don't like is the massive crowds, but i usually go on a weekend afternoon, so there might be... More

This is ayearly event and i was lucky to be in Sydney for it. Easy to get to by bus. Crowded, don't go on a week end if possible. Takes a few hours. If you like contemporary art , or seeing art installed outdoors you will love it. The Chinese artists were the most interesting.

In my opinion this free, annual sculpture display is always worth a visit. It combines some great pieces of art with one of my favourite walks along the coast between Bondi & Tamarama. If you go on a weekend day it can get crowded and I would recommend travelling by public transport if you can as parking will be at... More

Rather disappointed this year. If it was not such a beautiful day, it would have been a waste of time.nowhere near as many sculptures and not as wonderful as last year. There are a few good displays and many rather basic ones. We loved the sculptures with movement last year and not many this time. The lovely drinks area at... More

Just to see beautiful works of art accessible to the public in a magnificent setting such as Bondi to Bronte is breath taking!

This is a focal event annually in Sydney and well worth the hassles of getting there. Public transport is the best option although it still takes time, be it train-bus (generally faster) or bus. Driving means a hassle parking as, apart from events such as this, Bondi is an attraction in itself with the beach, surf and eating out options.... More

I'm not a big art buff but Sculpture By The Sea is amazing, fantastic pieces of art against the amazing back drop of Bondi. It's all free of charge too (donation buckets are around but nit in your face). It's a definite must see and I'd even be willing to pay! I could walk round it again and again. AMAZING

You don't see these kind of sculptures every time and worth the visit every year to see the unique sculptures.
