Took our 5 year old grandson here, he is really in to pirates so he enjoyed it! He loved climbing over the ship and going down below to see where the crew slept. Very interesting tour guide shows you through. Well worth a visit and in such a pretty spot on Darling Harbour.

Been here, really liked the ship and the volunteers as well. The staff was very konwledgeable and told us a lot about the ship and it's history.

I loved how this vessel had been refurbished and was ready to go out to sea a few days after my visit at Pyrmont Wharf. Below deck is brilliant, with basic but intriguing decor and the staff are friendly and helpful. I want to go out to sea on this vessel when I am next able.

I traveled as a passenger on the ship on the aborted trip to Hobart. This did not matter at all as I had the best experience. Discovering that I could overcome my fear of heights and climb the mast was a brilliant and life changing experience. Even if you don't go to that level you would have to be a... More

What a fantastic job the volunteer crew of the James Craig are doing in keeping this magnificent old ship alive - and working! I am a keen sailor and have crewed on other tall ships - so was sad I could not make the harbour cruise, but was honoured to be given a detailed guide round the ship by one... More

A lovely way to spell 2.5 hours ...... cruise out under the harbour bridge, past the Opera House down towards Watsons Bay under full sail .... FANTASTIC! As much to drink as you want including sparkling wine and beer. Make sure you buy the all inclusive deal incl. drinks etc. recommended for the whole family a real lovely experience.

However, I am a sailor and thought this renovated, ancient Tall Ship was just the best. Do not go for the piece of junk that is not the James Craig, it is something from a water zombie movie. Go authentic with Museum quality boats run by volunteers and even crewed by them. What a day of sailing and watching the... More

WOW Thank you trip advisor, if it hadn't been for the reviews I would never have known about the James Craig Tall Ship. I booked NYE 2014 on line back in March last year for 4 of us, we were visiting my son and his girlfriend and this was our treat. We stayed at the Novotel in Darling Harbour so... More

The Tall Ship James Craig is a restored sailing ship from a bygone era. The rigging is the best feature of this ship, offering a unique perspective to take photos of Sydney harbour. Pictures of the Opera House and Harbour bridge through the rigging offer a different perspective. It was raining when we went, but large parts of the deck... More

Having asked around on the best boat to see NYE the James Craig was recommended. I had previously considered the James Craig but the price had put me off. In the end I decided to pay for the tickets and I am so glad I did for the following reasons: Location - We were in a prime spot for the... More
