Right in the heart of downtown Sydney, the Strand Arcade is an atmospheric relic from the Victorian era. These days it is an upmarket shopping precinct, occupied by high-end shops (many of the bespoke variety) and cafes. Don't expect too many bargains here (except maybe in JB Hi-Fi, which occupies the basement). I recommend climbing the stairs (or taking the... More

Arcade is beautiful. There are many small clothing and jewelry boutiques inside. Most of them were expensive. We only saw one small cafe inside - would have been better if it had more cafes to sit down and to enjoy the architecture.

This old time Victorian styled Mall is worth the visit. Lots of boutique stores and a great place to stroll and shop or sit at a cafe and watch the people walking by. This is among several other streets of shopping, so if it's not your "cup of tea" then you can simply walk down the next street or mall.... More

The Strand Arcade is a local shopping "mall" in downtown, Sydney, Australia. This gorgeous Victorian Building has survived the modernization and is now filled with trendy boutiques. You can find a large variety of interesting items here from shoes and clothing to chocolates and nuts. There is a stop on the Red Line of the hop-on hop-off bus making it... More

An arcade that looks early Victorian and has kept that beautiful feel in its lighting, tiling and general decor. Visit for this alone and get the bonus of some great shops selling different and quirky products, from hand made shirts to high end patisserie.

The Strand is a Victorian-style shopping arcade between Pitt and George Street.Three stores in all. It has many designer label boutiques like Alannah Hill, Alex Perry, some of the names I never heard of. Also there a cafes, you can also have your shoes cleaned and polished on the ground floor.

Love this beautiful old arcade, right in the city, lots of lovely shops. The nut shop has the best chocolates! There are some good coffee shops inside. It is a beautiful building and well worth a visit!

There does not seem to be a younger style and high end clothier in downtown Sydney. The shops are all geared toward what the rest of the world "thinks" the US is into, and therefor doesn't have a great selection of what is new and hip in the west. It does have a lot of WAYYY overpriced last year's merchandise,... More

Near to the Queen Victoria Building, be sure to drop by this historic building which small boutique cafes and shops, its a definite photographic opportunity. After its refurbishment completed with all the original decorations, the place gives you a feeling of going back in time. This three stories building is easy to access, do take note that the goodies here... More

Well after you visit Pitt Street Mall, walk through the Strand Arcade on the way to the Queen Victoria Building. It has lovely shops, eateries and is a step back into history. Make it part of your Sydney CBD Walk.
