I took the ferry from Circular to Manly. Trip is about 35 minutes. You can check out the departure times at the nearby information center next to Circular Quay and the train station. It will allow you to take upclose pictures of the Opera house from the river as the ferry departs the quay.

We love the Sydney Ferry! It offers the best view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Make sure you plan to take one when you visit!!

A very budget ferry with scenice views of Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Its a good 1hour long ferry and hence you get ample time to enjoy the scenic views. The ferry does have coffee/drinks and snacks on board( paid ofcourse). It costed almost 16AUD for a return trip from Manly Beach. The ferry leaves from Circular Quay and the... More

A ferry travel is a must, even if you just go from Sydney Harbour to Darling Harbour. Sydney is seen from a different perspective. We did a Harbour cruise which too us to Toronga Zoo, and Watson's Bay. We got off at Watson's Bay, walked up to The Gap to admire the magnificent views, then we had a wonderful Fish... More

Great views and no traffic - commute or sightsee all around the harbour, the longest journey under an hour and maybe $5-10 depending on distance.

Why pay for an expensive harbour cruise when you can hop on a municipal ferry for a few bucks and get a close up view of the Opera House and harbour Bridge included in your fare? They're magic. We were staying in Pyrmont and often needed to get to Circular Quay for transport links to other areas. We hopped on... More

I took the ferry to Manly. We have been snapping the Sydney bridge and opera house in various places. I think I got the best view of the bridge and and opera house from the ferry ( we were in the open air compartment). The ferries are punctual, comfortable and provide wifi facilities. I enjoyed the ride.

The ferries operated on time. They were comfortable and fast. Deciding which ferry to take was fast and easy. Some tickets were purchased at a staffed window and others were purchased from a kiosk.

Why spend the time and money on a tourist cruise, when you can take any of these excellent ferries? The classic is the ferry to Manly at sunset (and immediate return).
