Take the ferry from Circular Quay to Watson's Bay and walk around the cliffs to the lighthouse overlooking The Gap. Views of both Sydney and the open sea are spectacular from different vantage points along the pathway.

Buy a pass that lasts for days. My husband and I each had one and that way it worked for busses, ferries, etc. It was handy and affordable. I would do it again without hesitation.

The ferry services in Sydney are just fantastic, easy to use for any visitor. If you are staying for any length of time then I highly recommend the combined bus, train and ferry pass.

The commercial ferry operators are very territorial. Be sure you have a ticket for the right one, or they may kick you off. We purchased ours on a Hop-on bus, but it turned out it was not for the Hop-on ferry. They nearly left half of us behind, trying to sort this out.

You can't beat the public ferries for convenience and price. You can travel all over the harbor for about $24, and the boats are fast, clean, comfortable and always on time

As a local I love taking the local ferry from Circular Quay over to Neutral Bay and Kurraba Point. It offers a quick trip and a great way to see the Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Kirribilli and Neutral Bay.

A wonderful way to see our magnificent harbour. Why not go to Watsons Bay and enjoy fish and chips. Manly is only a half hour trip and you can visit the magnificent beach voted better than Bondi. If you want to catch up on a little history, take a ferry to Cockatoo Island, great set up and guides to show... More
