I want to thank Alfonso for the great Night Walk! He showed us hidden spots around Sydney and how to take the perfect picture under different light influences. He was so nice and I wish I did the afternoon walk with him too. Next time! Absolute worth the money and time!!

A valuable 3 hour experience. Alfonso is knowledgeable, energetic and demonstrated various modes of lighting to capture special effects. I recommend this course.

Alfonso combines technical know-how and personalized touches to help you come up with photos you've always tried to take but never knew how to. It was a wonderfully informative 3 hours, full of tips, tricks, meeting new people and seeing/ capturing/experiencing Sydney by night.

This was a remarkable experience. I am a novice photographer and really appreciated the guidance in identifying good subjects, finding the right light and making adjustments to get a variety of views of each subject. I also learned a good bit about the beautiful city of Sydne.

Alfonso is truly a master and artist of his profession. I have been photographing since I was 16 and in my younger days I also worked as a professional. However, regrettably I put my camera down for over 25 years. Recently, I decided it was time to to start photographing again and in order to regain some of my lost... More

I was pleasantly surprised at how Alfonso conducted his session. After going through the importance of color, texture, and composition he released us into the wild (street scenes) and apply those principles. Then comes the fun part of going over your shots and discussing what is good, what can be improved, camera settings etc. I have attended a few lessons... More

I'm a passionate photographer - a "prosumer," in the parlance - who travels prodigiously for business, but always, if possible, takes a day or more just for shooting. I've been meeting up with experienced photographer-teachers in the places I visit to learn while I shoot. And I have to say, I've not met anyone who tops Alfonso Calero in his... More

I've always wanted to take decent night photos, so I bought a fancy digital SLR camera. now all I needed was someone to show me how to use it. Alfonso was a great teacher. Easy to understand, easy to get along with, just a great experience. I'm planning on doing another session with him, this time a day time lesson.... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
