Went on the trip this morning with my daughter and nephew, and had a fabulous time. Lee runs a very professional outfit, ably assisted by the skipper. We were lucky enough to see numerous whales, including a couple that surfaced just in front of the boat, and another couple that breached several times over about half an hour. It was... More

love the fact that we got to see the whales so close up! The catamaran was smooth sailing and the journey was smooth. Small numbers on board ensure good sights. First hour was a bit boring as it was spent spotting for the whales from afar. But once spotted it is a thrill to see so many of them and... More

At $40, this is fantastic value for money and a lovely half day out. It took us a bit to find the whales, but the boat trip was pleasant and Lee and her skipper Chris were friendly. Mitch the dog is very cute too. When we did find them, the whales were beautiful and Lee and Chris's knowledge of how... More

Wow!! That's the only way to express how good it was! When looking for a whale watching boat we wanted something that we could relax on and not be rushed out and back in. The Pacific Explorer with its 360* degree views fit the bill. Lee and the crew including the dog "MIDGE" made us feel welcome. Within minutes of... More

We are Coffs Harbour locals and haven't been whale watching for over 10 years. The Pacific Explorer had a special deal for $25 per person on the whale watching cruise. With this price in mind, we decided to take a trip out on the Pacific Explorer with our two children and their Grandparents to experience these amazing creatures up close... More

I went on this whale watch boat trip. There were 3 crew for about 20 of us on the trip. We saw 7or 8 whales in the distance and tracked a couple of them for about a half hour or so. Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to catch sight of them at any decent distance. Even though good viewings are... More

Lee B, Owner at Whale Watch on Pacific Explorer, responded to this review

In response to your review, we are governed by rules and regulations when whale watching and cannot go within 100m (300m if there is a calf) of a whale. In order to get a close view it is up to the whales to come to us and unfortunately we have no control over that. I always arrive after passengers as... More
