I have to say I thought it would be, (boring that is) but visitors to our fair town talked me into spending the afternoon at Floriade this year. There really is plenty to see and do, and if you are like me and can't go without a good cup of coffee for 5 minutes, there are plenty of good places... More

Pretty flowers, interesting concessions with good foodstuffs and fun gardening tools and accessories. When tour groups of elderly people and tourists go through, some locals call it "green hell". Imagine, stuck in a queue of elderly people with locomotion impediments making inane comments about tulips. It's free, it's gorgeous - get there early and then LEAVE before the masses arrive... More

Floriade is not just about the flowers, it is also about local Australian products like honey and other foods and clothing and goods. There is good entertainment available and you never know who you might meet there. For me it was Australian Photographer Steve Parrish, one of my all time hero's. Then there are the flowers! GO

If you need a good reason to visit the National Capital Floriade is the time to travel to Canberra. You will not be sorry as the displays are brilliant and the surrounding events are also worth a visit. we are from Canberra but still try to go at least once each year

This is probably my 3rd or 4th time to visit Floriade, over the last few years. I don't necessarily go every year, but I go when i feel like it. I went over the September long weekend. the weather was glorious. I was very lucky. the flowers are very pretty, and arranged in patterns. although I must say i notice... More

I was very excited to attend Nightfest this year as a recent resident to Canberra. I even planned to go on two or more nights. The comedy tent was a joke (my camping tent is larger), the food was insubstantial and terrible, and no chairs were provided for the main stage. For a free event this may be acceptable, but... More
