I looked forward to visiting Floriade for some years, and while it was not as impressive as I dreamed, it was memorable and very photogenic. It was free entry - but that does not take into account an airfare and hotel accommodation from Melbourne. I was surprised by the domination of tulip beds. They are indeed a resilient display flower,... More

It is fun to wander around all the tulip displays (they are stunning), as well as all the vendors and information stands. It is free to get in, but the food can be pricey, so bring a picnic and have the perfect family day out.

It is actually quite a small in area. The way they talk about I expected it to be larger. But it is still nice. They arrange the flowers into patterns and pictures. The best view is probably from the ferris wheel cause then you can see the arangement properly. They have some stalls too that sell pot plants, handmade soap,... More

Many excellent floral displays. Very nice layouts. Lots of activities for kids. Well worth a visit every September / October. Day time visits are free entry. A free bus service to and from the city bus interchange. Parking is available.

This is one of Canberra's special events - so much of Canberra revolves around government and politics but this is one aspect that not even politics infringes on - a beautifukl and colourful array of flowers on the lakeside.

I was competely impressed by this display. I'm not a fan of flowers, but the colours were just unbelievable. Even at 1°C, those flowers looked magnificent. If you can go to Floriade, don't miss it!

I have dreamt of going to the Floriade for years and finally went this year, expecting to be blown away by not only the scale but the variety of flowers. It is beatifully presented and a lot of work has gone into it, but I was a little bit disappointed that it was mostly tulips, tulips, and more tulips. I... More

An idyllic setting on the shores of lake Burley Griffin this flower show suffers from monoculture syndrome as, unbeknown to us, the only flowerers on display seemed to be tulips. Great if you're tulipophile, but if you like to see a more varied display then you'd be disappointed. The 'artistic' gnomes on display added an interesting diversion.

Lucky the exhibitors were there to add variety. The best thing about Floriade was the food and sculptures and vendors. I just feel way too many of the 3 main varieties of Flowers. Tulips, violas and petunias. Loved the community involvement are and art but I went to see the flowers.

Worth the drive to Canberra for the day. Beautiful gardens. I recommend a ride on the ferris wheel to see the gardens from the top.
