Great morning at Floriade as we arrived early making parking easy and crowds manageable. The Ferris wheel was wonderful for an overview of the displays and the best way to see the "picture" it is meant to be.

our son sent us on a one night stay in Canberra to see the Floriade, and some sights. We saw some beautiful flowers and arrangements, we couldn't make out all of them,we don't like heights so we gave the Ferris wheel a miss. But what we saw we thoroughly enjoyed. Would def: go again if have the opportunity.

As a gardener I was in awe of the huge beds of flowering bulbs arranged in different patterns spectacular. An array of "stalls" to purchase gardening and other interesting stalls. {Plenty of attention for children's activities to keep them happy). Very enjoyable.

In all my life I have been planned to see a nice tulip garden that you can not see the edge from one side. I may have put up too much hope for that. I specially planned the trip for my parents, staying over and some more. Unfortunately it is not that up to my expectation. Too little to see,... More

I have been to Floriade several times over the past 20 or so years. I feel the earlier ones were less touristy & more about the floral displays. The 2014 Floriade had some nice displays but it can be difficult to see what the "picture" is meant to be in some cases as they have removed the walk-up platforms from... More

Floriade was one of the items on our Canberra 'To Do' list. It seemed to be all the flowers that can be grown from bulbs. There were lots of tulips which were very pretty. It is really more like a regional Show with lots of things for kids to do, including a Ferris Wheel, and people selling things. I’d seen... More

It may seem to be a bit of a weekend market but it is a really big and exciting thing and that has nothing to do with perceptions that Canberra is a boring place, which by the way it is not. Went to Floriade today with kid in tow and we loved it, bought a hanging chair for $500 and... More

We travelled from Queensland especially to see Floriade. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the displays. We appreciate what the gardners were trying to achieve but unless you could have a bird's eye view you couldn't really tell what the layouts were. After visiting Keukenhof gardens in Amsterdam earlier this year we were especially disappointed in the Floriade display. We may... More

Firstly, a little background. Floriade is one of the premier events in Canberra. It is Australia's biggest celebration of spring. As of 2014, it's in its 27th year and runs for 30 days over the months of September and October. It showcases one million flowers in bloom throughout Canberra’s Commonwealth Park and entry is free. The event welcomes more than... More
