I took my brother and his partner to the Green Herring for dinner and I was impressed both with the food and the place. I had a really nice eye fillet with hazelnut puree and rosti followed by a banana pudding. The servings, whilst looking small, were most filling and delicious. I would recommend the Green Herring if you're after... More

Lots of shops and some historical buildings. You can shop till you drop on artisan objects and even go to the walk in aviary.

The Green Herring is the best. Fabulous food served in a wonderfully cosy trestaurant. Nothing like it in Canberra!

Many different shops with arts, crafts, etc Many places to eat and shady parkland - a perfect place to stretch your legs or picnic. The walk in bird aviary is well worth it. Close to George's Inn, Cockington Green and the Dinosaur Museam.

Although this has turned into a tourist hub it is actually quite significant to Canberra's history. The 'old' buildings were here in the early 1900's and played an important part in early Canberra's history so take the time to seek them out and find out a bit about them while you are wandering around the complex.

We went to a cafe here for Mother's Day last year. The cafe was lovely. We then visited the shops around Ginninderra Village and found that they were failry boring, sold old-fashioned items and were overpriced. Not really worth a visit.

There are a couple of heritage rated buildings in this precinct from the late 1800's and another that is old but imported. The rest are very recent shops. Shops tend to the tourist trade. Some good cafes and interesting galleries and Cockington Green, the dinosaur museum, the aviary, the reptile zoo and the George Harcourt Inn are all in the... More
