Namadgi is one of our favourite places in the Canberra region. It is vast and beautiful, with the added attraction of the Aboriginal cave paintings at Yankee Hat - and this is an easy walk even for those not used to hiking. If you have visitors from overseas they will be completely gobsmacked by the gazillions of kangaroos! You are... More

If your bored of the usual attractions of Canberra, stretch your legs and visit Namadgi national park. Being so close to Canberra it's a great way to get out in the bush. Depending of the time of year Namadgi has it all, swimming , snow , bushwalking, huts and wildlife.

Situated in the National Park, Yankee Hat is the site of the only know Rock Paintings in the ACT. The paintings themselves are modest but original, but the walk (about 6km round trip) to see them is an easy bush walk with way markers. The stunning scenery with plenty of kangaroos and wild rabbits make it a worthwhile 1/2 day... More

This is a much improved facility and a great opportunity to show visitors a bit of our outstanding bush capital features. Good range of walks and areas to explore, from advanced expert hikes down to strolls for the elderly. Be prepared for changing and extreme weather conditions if you are staying for any period of time. And watch the Park... More

Namadgi is very close to Canberra - it takes less than an hour to get to the Apollo Campground in the park. Camping costs just a couple of Dollars for adults - kids go free - and come with the wonderful experience of camp fires and star lit nights. It' s one of Canberra' s little wonders that still wait... Beautiful bushland park and a great place for a picnic. It's very large. The back drop to the mountains is superb. Spotted lots of native wild-life and enjoyed the visitors center's displays. The emu's were charming.

This park is fantastic. You never hear anything about this NP and since we were in Canberra for the Floriade we decided to make time to see this park and it is great. There is a fantastic info centre, well marked walking paths, great picnic areas especially around Cotter Dam, an abundance of wildlife and scenic drives. If I had... More

This is 2/3 of the act. This National Park is superb! It's partly why I live in Canberra. There are a number of tracks: Stockyard Spur and Camels Hump.. The back country is REALLY remote. It's a wonderful play land for remote country bush walkers. My review would fill up this page . Get out of your car and start... More

I visit for walks and they are getting better year by year; thanks ACT government. The walk up from Corin Dam is great; better since the improvements. Mount Tennent is also a good walk; take care though as the map of the area is out of date as tracks have been re-aligned. The Yankee Hat area is a great place... More
