Love this place! I have been multiple times and always manage to still be interested. I'm really not a war fanatic so that really says a lot. This place has the ins and outs of every war, the models, the equipment, the reenactments are all done so well. This place is a must see when in Canberra

Sombre, sobering and solemn, but what a wonderful experience. This is THE site in Canberra you must not miss. There are static and visiting exhibitions, so there is always something to see. We take a lot for granted in Australia, but our peaceful existence comes at great personal cost. Go and take the children with you. Allow at least half... More

Lots of reviewers rave about the AWM and with good reason. If you visit Canberra for no other reason than to visit the AWM then you won't be disappointed. It tells the story of Australian servicemen and service women over the past 100 years or so in a quiet and dignified manner. It makes no political statement about the country's... More

This was not my first visit and will not be my last. It was my first time taking my kids though. There is something about this place that makes it special. Whether you are visiting to learn of Australia's military history, recognising those who have lost their lives for the country, checking out the military hardware it doesn't seem to... More

A must visit when visiting Canberra. The exhibits are fantastic and doing a guided tour makes the most of the trip. The evening closing ceremony is very moving.

I thought this was beautifully done. A fantastic memorial to our soldiers. I spent a full half day here and only due to time constraints had to leave. Plenty of parking. Easy to find. I learnt heaps of our Australian war history. Great for kids and adults. Highly recommended.

The volunteer staff made everything so easy to understand. The paintings were just amazing, so much to see and do three hours went so quickly.

The walkways with the thousands of names of those killed in war is an emotional and thought provoking experience. A memorial to those who sacrificed their life (and their families and loved ones) definitely not a celebration of war or conflict.

An interesting look at Australia's involvement in war over time. Some exhibits can be emotional due to the content, but are nonetheless vital in an honest study of war.

No limit to visit numbers as changing all the time exhibits, so interesting and a time capsule especially for those of us with family who served
