Easy walking around the Gardens. Beautifully laid out and nicely labelled. Some very lovely mature trees and plenty of lovely natives to admire.

Sturt Desert Peas in bloom, in Canberra!! Absolutely stunning :) A lovely stroll around the main loop is full of interesting plants and different climate areas are displayed brilliantly.

Make a list of the botanical gardens you've been to that wowed you. Then make a list of the ones that didn't. This is at the bottom of my second list. It is rightly centred on indigenous trees and shrubbery - but honestly, it is poorly laid out and, like a few things in Canberra, feels like it has been... More

The gardens are very diverse and beautiful. Take the time to wander around and enjoy the various plant life from around Australia in one location.

my father and I often are spotted at the botanical gardens, it's a lovely place to walk around, bird watch,Sunday picnic or even meet friends for a cup of coffee at the cafe! It's pay parking, and there is plenty of shade! Be sure to visit the newly upgraded 'Sydney Gardens' too

An interesting botanic gardens in that all the plants are Australian, showcasing the many ecosystems Australia has. The rainforests were incredible and the wildlife abundant. My wife and spent the whole afternoon in awe watching all the honeyeaters feeding and carrying on amongst the banksias and wattles. It's one of the best examples of an indigenous garden in the world.
