Fantastic collection of iconic Australian and Indigenous art with a good selection of mid 20th century american art. Also known for its textiles and print collections if they are on display.

This Art Gallery never fails to amaze me. There is always a change of exhibitions which are great. Whether I have been there within a month of last visit or a year I am always surprised.

They are renovating and rehanging works so it is not as complete as it usually is but they staff inform you of this as soon as you arrive. Great Rama exhibition, great Ned Kelly exhibition and of course the Blue Poles.

I had not been here for 20 years and was really disappointed at the disjointed layout and poor lighting, giving it a very gloomy aspect generally. It appeared old and dated particularly compared to National gallery Victoria

This museum is a beautiful and fully accessible facility that houses exhibits for most tastes. In particular, I was quite impressed with the diversity and range of Aboroginal art on display. A guided tour is useful to better understand the significance of Aboriginal art that spans more than 50,000 years. More in-depth written explanations would be valuable as well and... More

Not looking as good as I have seen it in the past. No major show or collection at the moment, lots of galleries closed for reno's, not much in the store really. Sorry. Still worth a look at the Kelly collection.

There is no doubt millions of $$ in art in the gallery, but I think where there needs to be an explanation of the message the piece is trying to get across, the art piece has failed. There is some way out rubbish on display, but no doubt highly priced rubbish, and of course, some very fine art pieces. I... More

I loved wandering through the galleries, in particular the impressionistic, abstract and pop art galleries. Great cafe also.

Always a pleasure coming to the National Gallery of Australia. Although sometimes I feel like there is no real direction when wandering through the large halls of the Gallery, this also works quite well in the free flowing nature of the place. The art is highly diverse and there is ALOT of it. Thoroughly enjoyable.
