How can one miss this opportunity? It gives the visitor a quick yet thorough run-down of the history of Australia. How all the big cities like Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth came to be. The exhibits are huge and far too many. It would take an entire day to visit and enjoy this museum wonder.

This is a great gallery, with much to see. I didn't have a heap of time so I only went to the points of interest for me. There are several levels, a nice shop to look in and a cafe. The gallery itself is free, if you had the energy and the art enthusiasm you could easily spend the day... More

Great building, wonderful art. The cafe is reasonable as well. Will go back. The exhibitions are worth keeping an eye out for.

Very good gallery, almost has excellent displays and exhibitions on. Changes out a fair bit so you can go back quite a few times and always see something different. Not a huge art fan personally, but still very good viewing.

A very well laid out gallery and the only complaint was a lack of directions but the staff made up for that. Overall the collection, especially the Nolan exhibition is a 'must see' and the aboriginal art section was really instructive and educational. Overall a great place to spend some time, observe and relax with a great collection.

Always plenty to see at the Gallery. We went to see the Kabuki Stage Prints this time. Loved the beautiful kimono especially the red ones.

We discovered to find a park in Canberra is extremely difficult so decided to park under the gallery however it is so low you are un able to get a vehicle with a roof rack or carrier through. The gallery is interesting albeit a little disappointing .

I visit Canberra often and I was out for a run, needing a breather and found myself right out front of the National Gallery of Australia, so in I went (all sweaty) for a look. What a surprise, this place is really peaceful and reflective. The artwork is quite amazing and best of all, it is entirely free. I spent... More

Not having an interest in art. You will find Indian Artefacts, to current displays. I had an opportunity to look at Andy Warhol's work. Was impressed.
