I liked everything I saw, starting with a guided tour, then I went around on my own. I didn't allow enough time, so I will have to go back some time and see the rest.

The gallery is worth a visit if only for the collection of indigenous art. However, there are lots of other noteworthy artworks. Staff are also very friendly and helpful. We spent an enjoyable few hours here and had a great lunch in the cafe.

I love the environment around the gallery as well as the inside. Always worth being aware of architecture and sculptures on a travel adventure.

I got lost on the bus from the Canberra train station to my lodgings. I had to change buses at Parkes Place so I thought I'd visit the Gallery while I was there. They have excellent luggage holding facilities because I had everything with me - a dance dress bag, a huge suitcase and backpack. But I was there only... More

A variety of exhibits that show off so many wonderful artworks. Well worth a visit. Also it is not too big that it becomes overwhelming.

We were amazed at the large collection of beautiful paintings, wooden objects, woven artefacts and other items made by the Aborigines. Also enjoyed the more familiar Australian and Impressionist paintings. Being visitors to this state (ACT) we were allowed 3 hours free parking. Altho rushed, we did manage to view this and the Portrait gallery in less than 3 hours.

Very impressive building, good spaces. Loved the Boyd, Monet some of the more modern artists, then gallery fatigue took over and it was time to leave as we stared at Blue poles.

Fantastic place to visit - lots of wonderful pieces to see and loved seeing Monet and Picasso in the gallery - the Albert Namatjira paintings were a highlight. The gift shop is well stocked and large as is the cloke room. The space is child friendly and the outside areas are great for letting little ones let their energy out!

Very well presented displays and the building is stunning. Quite busy with a lot of school groups but because the gallery is so huge we were able to dodge the school groups and enjoy the gallery. Had lunch in the cafeteria at about 2pm and with disappointed with the lack of hot food choices. Would recommend a visit.
