This gallery is beautifully presented and the portraits of famous people in public life are very engaging and top quality. There is also a very good bookshop at the front of the gallery

Great place to wander around and marvel at great artistic talent. This was our first trip as a couple (kids all grown up) and we felt like we did more adult things (no Questacon or Cockington Green this time). Oh yeah able to take photos of most things in the gallery.

Learned a lot about many and varied Aussies and their exploits. It is not just pictures of Politicians but of many different people. I got brain overload after about an hour and half. Wished I could have had time another day to go back again. Free entry.

Interesting selection of portraits that span so many years in Australian history. It is not just for art lovers because each portrait has a wonderful story attached.

I liked its proximity to the National Gallery and that I was able to view it in less than an hour - but still view and admire a lot of the paintings.
